Bruce Wayne was finally ready to take the throne. He had to wait for a suitable mate to claim his crown and a suitable mate he had found. Clark Kent was the most decorated and heroic knight in all the kingdom. In Gotham, no King or Queen could be unmated. To take up the throne, one must participate in the Claiming, whether they be an omega or an alpha. Nobility from across the world travel to Gotham and gather in the great hall. Towards the back, right in front of the golden throne, a breeding bench was placed. The omega could be placed bent over on the stomach, or on their back, legs up. The ceremonial drink would be given to the couple, which would trigger their heat/rut cycles. There, in front of the crowd, they would mate.

"Do you... always spend your heats alone?" Clark asked quietly, not quite expecting a reply, but needing to know all the same.
"There's no one else." The words were soft and hollow, and the air around Bruce smelled bitter.
That should have been the moment Clark accepted Bruce's answer and let the subject drop. Bruce wasn't angry or disappointed that Clark had found out something that was meant to stay hidden, and that alone was enough to ease the weight pressing on Clark's chest.
Still…
"I… I'm an alpha," he heard himself say. "If you ever need someone to help you through your heats, you can rely on me."
