Summary
It's been a little over four years since Riley Davis gave birth to her daughter, Claire, and every day since then has been a fight, for herself, her daughter, her sanity, and the possibility of finding a real relationship. Being a single mother isn't easy, not the parenting side or the relationship side of things. Men tend to see single mothers as a conquest, a fantasy to fulfill, or checkbox to mark off.
When it seems like there's no good, honest men left in the world, someone comes into Riley's life, who completely changes her life, and gives her hope that maybe, love isn't really done with her yet.

While on a romantic weekend getaway with her boyfriend of two years, Riley makes a discovery that completely turns her world upside down and shatters her heart. After confronting him about his secret, she storms off, heartbroken and lost, in a city she didn't know or understand. After wondering around the streets of Paris, she stumbles upon a bar, with only one customer inside. With her eyes puffy, and red from crying, she makes her way inside, where she finds something, she thought was impossible.
This is a bad summary, but it's the best I could write, I'm not good at these things. 😂

When Riley was in the tenth grade, she had experienced a heartbreaking breakup and her best friend, Mac, decided to comfort her in her time of need. While they sat on her living room couch, watching TV and cuddling, she got a bright idea and decided to tell him about it. The idea was more of a Vow, that if neither of them were married or dating anyone by the time they were twenty-six, they'd marry each other, no matter what.
Fast forward ten years, things slowly fall into place.

He rolled his eyes and placed the small box in the palm of her hand. It was wrapped in a little red bow, the box itself seemingly made out of wood. It was a nice presentation, all things considered.
“I hope you like it…” he grumbled uneasily.
“It’s from you, how could I not?” she responded, a genuine fondness in her tone.
Once the lid was off, she pulled up the gift and held it to the light.
“It’s a necklace. I thought you might like it. It’s not super traditional, more like a choker.” He grabbed a small pendant on the front of it. “You can take it off, but I did…put my initial on it,” he finished sheepishly.
Her eyebrows slowly raised, and the smile on her face slowly grew and grew until it was almost ridiculous-looking. Her eyes glanced up to stare at Robert’s.
And for once, she was speechless.
“What? What are you giving me that look for? Is something wrong? Do you not like it?” he asked, anxiety written all over his features.
“Robert. This is a collar.”
“What?”

Courtney and Mandy have been friends for years. They have lived together almost as long.
So when Mandy suddenly says that her childhood best friend will be staying with them at their yearly getaway with Mandy's family
Courtney doesn't think much of it. Assumes Mandy is interested in her friend after just becoming single again.
Only to find out that she herself finds him incredibly attractive. Maybe a little too attractive.
And it could just be her imagination, but from the start there seems to be some kind of chemistry, some kind of tension between them.
