Summary
Yoongi is tired of his family constantly nagging him to find an alpha. It's the reason why he hates the holidays so much, so when he meets Jimin after his aunt plants the idea of a 'holidate' in his mind, it just seems to make sense.
Jimin isn't one for spending the holidays alone, but always seems to end up with psycho omegas who think they'll be the one to tie him down or who try to trap him by bringing their parents into the picture. So when he meets Yoongi at the mall and sees that he's somewhat normal, things just fall in line.

Two strangers meet at the mall and decide to become each other's date for every holiday.

Retired Olympic gymnast Park Jimin finished his military service two months ago, and now he's hiking the Appalachian Trail. Why, he's not exactly sure yet. A spring snowfall leaves him holed up in a lean-to shelter all afternoon, and during a break in the group card game, he shares his strawberry gummies with the quiet guy in the corner. Five months, 1800 miles, and three pairs of boots later, he discovers what it is he was looking for.

He was probably losing it.
Wilderness sickness.
There were plenty old battered journals in his watchtower telling stories about how the woods were enchanted. Endless diary entrances with signs of how watchers slowly but steady went a little bit more crazy for every passing day. Yoongi had thought it was all bullshit, made-up entries by bored lookouts, but now after so many weeks, he wasn’t so sure anymore.
Or; Yoongi takes a job as firewatch in hopes of escaping his life. His only remote company for the rest of the summer is the mouthy voice in his intercom-radio talking to him every day, and maybe they need each other more than they think.
