Summary
The Battle of Five Armies leaves Bilba Baggins scarred both physically and emotionally, least of all due to the wounds she received trying and failing to save the line of Durin. She returns to the Shire broken and changed, and almost drowns in her grief time and again.
Until, of course, she receives an invitation to the festivities marking the second anniversary of the reclamation of Erebor, during which the King Under the Mountain, not to be confused with acting-king Dain Ironfoot, will be crowned. Against all her better judgement, she goes back to the mountain only to find herself changed again. And that’s only the beginning.
Or, Bilba thinks Thorin, Kili, and Fili long dead and her One love unrequited. She is so incredibly wrong.

“That he has,” Colm is looking at him in a funny way, with those dark, wild eyes, and it seems awfully similar to how Dutch looks at him but the feeling it gives him in the pit of his stomach is far more unsettling. “Fourteen’s a little young for you, ain’t it? Must be somethin’ real special about him.”

Eventually, his brain processes the question and he hurries to assure Dutch, “M’havin’ a great time. Best birthday since the first one with you.”
“You’ve only had one other since, Arthur,” Dutch reminds him, amused, “But I’m glad. You deserve it, my boy.”
“Thank you, Dutch.” Arthur is preening. This is exactly what he wanted.

Summary
In 2014, fourteen-year-old Gavin Free boards a plane headed to Los Santos from London Oxford International and effectively vanishes into thin air. The thing about vanishing, though, is that no one ever really does—something must happen to them.
In 2018, he resurfaces, bleeding out in the water of Puerta Del Sol's docks, and Burnie, his uncle, just wants to know what the hell that something was and who the fuck is to blame for it. At the same time, a new, skilled hacker going by the name of Golden Boy crashes into Los Santos' underground. Geoff Ramsey, leader of the Fake AH Crew and top dog of the city, gets a tip from an old friend and decides to recruit him, not expecting to meet a ghost—Gavin.
Geoff has the same questions as Burnie, but he doesn't have much time to dwell on finding answers. Joel Heyman's crew is growing, becoming a real threat, and the body count starts rising.
Everything is manageable until it isn't anymore.

The lead singer has a bass guitar slung over his shoulder and a mess of dark, wild curls barely contained under a highlighter orange visor with ‘DADDY’ embroidered in white. He’s wearing an equally offensive Hawaiian shirt with a white tee, tighttighttight skinny jeans, and black-framed glasses, and he’s ten times more gangly than Bill, made up of all boney, sharp angles.
Eddie is pretty sure he’s never seen someone more beautiful in his entire life. In fact, he’s so taken that it takes Bev shoving her elbow hard between his ribs for him to finally tear his eyes away, “Ouch, Bev, what the fuck?”
“Thought you might want to wipe that drool off your chin,” she flashes him that infuriatingly knowing grin and offers him another napkin, which he hastily snatches up to blot at his chin.
There’s no drool there.

Gavin likes to garden. Michael doesn’t know that Gavin likes to garden until they move in together after three years of dating, at which point it’s sort of hard to hide when suddenly there’s perfectly arranged flowers sprouting up in their yard. It isn’t like he’s been hiding it on purpose, anyway, Michael, it just never came up.
But Michael doesn’t tease, not much. Besides, he kind of likes the whole gardening thing… Or, at least, the fact that his boyfriend looks hot as fuck whenever he does it.

As he goes on, the cashier’s jaw tightens further and further until he finally bursts, dropping the box of cookies in his hand in favor of throwing his arms up into the air, “Will you shut the fuck up, asshole?! I don’t care! I’m here to ring up your goddamn munchies, not be your fucking therapist!”
Obviously the outburst is meant to deter Gavin, but he’s never had much of a sense of self-preservation. He starts digging through his wallet for his card, grin nearly splitting his face in half when he glances back up at the cute cashier and sings more than says, “Sounds like someone’s jealous, love.”

“It’s just me, Finn,” Poe lets out a slow breath and relaxes his grip, shifting his balance so he can gently cradle Finn’s face in his palms, “You with me?”
Finn nods ever so slightly, wets his parted lips though he’s unable to form words quite yet. “I’m sorry,” he finally croaks out, voice rough. He wishes that he had some water, but he doesn’t want Poe to leave, so he doesn’t ask for any. Instead, he coughs a few times, gaze shifting to sheepishly meet the other’s, “Did I wake you up?”
“No,” Poe replies a little too easily, as if he hadn’t just had to physically restrain a sleeping friend in the middle of the night, and says no more.

Like, for example, figuring out the logistics of fitting six young-and-some-still-growing men into one bed night after night despite the fact that they always end up either sprawled out on the floor and splitting between two rooms. It never works. It never ever works. But still, every damn night, they try, squeezing in and laying atop and curling up and stretching out and rolling around and fists in faces and elbows in sides and knees in crotches until they just give up.

Michael, Ray, Geoff, Ryan, and Jack, he thinks their names are. He has Michael in two of his classes, Ryan and Jack together in another, and the dorm room Ray and Michael share is in his hall, though rumor has it they usually stay off-campus at the student house the older three have. The thing that makes them interesting, however, is that they’re all together, the five of them, and they haven’t ever bothered trying to hide it.
Not that they should, of course, or really even need to. People are open minded here, so despite a polygamous relationship being a new concept to most of the students, no one really cares. Meg and Arryn think the five of them are really cute together, and Dan speculated once on how sex must work out, but other than that, he cares about them about as much as he cares about any random couple on campus.
Gavin, in all honesty, thinks they’re all damn cute. The three he’s talked to, the three in his classes, are all really cool and funny, and yeah, maybe it’s stupid and unrealistic, but he’s imagined being a part of the relationship before.
