“You are planning to rob me or what?” He hears Rozanov call, and he can’t help but smile slightly even as he rolls his eyes, closing the door to the linen closet and feeling strangely lighter than when he opened it, reassured that he’s just trying to read into a blank page, that today doesn’t mean anything more than Rozanov doesn’t mind him being around, which is strangely flattering.
“I don’t know,” he calls back. “Don’t Russians like diamonds and fur and stuff? Where should I start looking if I want to know what my options are?”
He hears Rozanov laugh, and it makes him smile.
When he joins him in the living room once more, Rozanov tugs him down to lean against him again. Shane goes easier this time, settling into it, knowing it doesn’t mean anything other than the fact that he just happens to be the closest warm body, the person on Rozanov’s roster who filled today’s slot.

Shane’s eyes flitted down to his half-empty beer, the condensation soaking his hand. He took a sip, half to have something to do besides avoid Ilya’s stare, half hoping it would provide a little liquid courage. Unfortunately, it had sat for too long, the liquid becoming room temperature, and Shane couldn’t help his grimace as it slid down his throat.
Ilya, who still hadn’t looked away, let out an amused huff at Shane’s evident misery.
“Do you want something better?” Ilya’s voice was low, a bit hoarse. Seductive, if Shane had to put a name to it, but that could have been the hopeful part of his brain talking. He only arched an eyebrow in response, not trusting his own voice to carry his words. It seemed to be enough for Ilya. “Follow me.”

Shane obeyed beautifully, the cherry flaring, and he pulled away after just a couple of seconds. He followed Ilya to a tee, holding his breath and releasing. He barely coughed as the smoke passed his lips.
Ilya was impressed, and more than a little turned on. “Perfect Shane Hollander, can even hit a joint like a natural.”
“You’re such an asshole.”
“Maybe.” Ilya plucked the joint from the other man, taking a long hit and blowing it towards the open window. “But I think you like it.”
