When Jisung had presented as an Omega four years ago, he’d been so sure things would change. He’d waited for Minho’s scent to sharpen when they were in the same room; he’d waited for a lingering look, a protective tilt of the head, a shift in the gravity between them.
He’d steal Minho’s hoodies when they accidentally got left behind in Chan’s apartment, saturating them with his own developing scent, hoping that when he handed them back, Minho’s pupils would blow wide. He’d lingered in doorways, laughed a little too loud at Minho’s dry jokes, and waited, desperate, for the shift. For the moment where Minho’s eyes would darken with something other than exasperated affection.
It never happened.

“Jisung, let go!”
“Shit-Minho, I-” His voice cracks, high and panicked.
He can feel it, the bond he just branded onto Minho without meaning to. It’s still raw, a newborn tether between them pulling tight from chest to chest. It hums beneath his skin, alive and relentless.
He did this. Jisung fucking did it this time for real. Less than twelve hours ago, he was so happy that he didn’t ruin everything, that he just had to go and make a practically irreversible mistake.
Minho catches his wrist, his grip strong and sure, though his hand trembles just slightly as his thumb strokes over the frantic pulse there.
“Don’t run,” Minho rasps, pleading. “Please.”

“It’s not.” Minho feels a bit embarrassed by the urgency in his voice as he interrupts Jisung. He can feel the heat on his face as he blushes, trying to play it off.
“It’s no bother, I…” Minho trails off, trying to figure out how to express his desire without being pushy. “I enjoy being there for you."
