Because he was sure that when they were the Bad Boys during Limited Life he went out his way to avenge the canary, Scott definitely cried over the blonde during Third Life, Martyn was also upset after losing him both in Last Life and Secret Life, and don't get him started with Lizzie, his wife was literally so worried about the blonde's safety and whereabouts during Wild Life, same goes for Scar. So he really doesn't know where this is coming from.

But the universe had other plans, making soulmates extremely rare and cursed with hardship and loss. The only way to know is that soulmates share dreams, share bending, and, most importantly, share their love lines,” she points to the top crease on his hand, where two deep lines run parallel to each other before intertwining with hatches and crosses and connecting finally.
Then it strikes him, her comment about sharing dreams, sharing bending, and it’s like he can feel his inner flame roar to life. The fire between them flares.
“Soulmates are very, very rare, and are known to change the course of the world,” she murmurs, caressing the line. “The last known pair was Sozin and Roku, and it seems the spirits have chosen you.”

Summary
Sokka was a strategist. Being the only man of the tribe, he had to learn to use the tribe’s few strengths to protect their many weaknesses. It wasn’t an easy task.
When Katara came back from the warship and told him that she thought Aang had been frozen in that iceberg for a hundred years, he didn’t doubt her. His eyes followed the naive young boy as he played with the children of the village, tattoos out for show without a hood or a parka to cover them, the Airbender not realizing the extent of the danger he had put them all in. He pieced it all together. He made a plan.
OR
Sokka makes a deal with Zuko. If you leave my tribe alone, I’ll go with you willingly. What he doesn’t say is that he isn’t the Avatar. He sent the real Avatar away with Katara.Bookmarked by levesqueee

“Hello, Zuko here.” Zuko said sheepishly.Katara grabbed Aang’s shirt and whispered to him, “Did he just say, Hello, Zuko here??!!”.
Aang didn’t say anything, he just stared.
“Yup.” Toph replied for him, snickering.
A loud smacking sound came for the upper throne from where, the great Dragon of the West, Fire Lord Iroh facepalmed himself.
Sokka stared down at him in pure disbelief.

This is a an Arranged Marriage AU in a slightly altered timeline to the canon and where some of the Gaang don’t know each other until they meet but The Day of the Black Sun was a success. The present time is the same time as the Avatar movie so everyone in in their 20s.
