Summary
Yoonchae is seventeen, tired, and honestly not sure what she’s doing with her life anymore. Most days are spent alone in her house, avoiding school whenever she can, making unfinished songs at three in the morning, and pretending she’s okay for the sake of her dad—the only person she really has left after losing her mother years ago.
She tells herself she prefers being alone. It’s easier that way.
But things start to shift when she’s forced into becoming a student tutor and ends up meeting Megan Skiendel, a pink-haired girl who talks too much, asks intrusive questions, and somehow acts like they’ve known each other forever. Megan is weird, unpredictable, and impossible to ignore.
Yoonchae slowly begins to realize that maybe life doesn’t have to feel so unbearably heavy all the time—and maybe letting someone in isn’t as terrifying as she thought.

Yoonchae hopes that she never gets used to the way Megan’s lips feel against her, hopes that the artificial cherry-sweet flavor and tackiness never fades. If she’s being completely honest with herself, Yoonchae thinks she could spend every day, for the rest of her life, kissing Megan and she’d still be able to find something new to obsess over. Some days it’s how Megan’s upper lip is more full than her own and how she likes the feeling of that, others it’s Megan’s lower lip when it’s being dragged between her teeth. But right now, Yoonchae’s obsessed with the way Megan keeps smiling into their kiss.
