Day 1: Meet-Cute Day
“Right.” He stiffens a little as he shuffles a few of his things through the door. “Mind the noise and…whatever,” he mumbles, pulling a hand through the front of his golden bangs. “I’m not really one for formalities. I’m Dream, you’re my roommate, blah, blah, yeah?”
Sapnap snorts a bit and absentmindedly gnaws the oncoming grin off his bottom lip. “Yeah, sure, gotcha. Sapnap, by the way.”
“Nice to meet you then,” the no-longer-a-stranger says, seeming to be fighting off a grin of his own (spoiler alert: he’s not doing as great of a job as Sapnap is).
“Yeah, you too, dude.”
Or, Sapnap and Dream are mildly annoying roommates. Things work out just fine.

Summary
The Brit’s face seems to twist a little, but not in disgust—rather, he looks a mix of confused and amused, the slightest smile playing on his lips. It’s probably thanks to the topic at hand, but Dream feels his heart flutter in his chest just earning such an expression to begin with.
“It’s a pretty nice community, yeah,” George replies, the crease in his brow much less tense than before. “I think…I’ll probably come to like it more than I expected.”
And he offers a smile before hurrying through his leave, because apparently he’s running late, but Dream doesn’t catch the entirety of it.

“Dream." It tasted like sunny apple juice on George's tongue. "Why are you dnf baiting on Tiktok?”
Dream was silent, for a second. George wondered where he was. On the couch, in his streaming room. Laying across his bed – their bed – his bed, just like George. In sync. There were a million ways, when you fell in love in front of everyone, to be self referential. Sometimes it was unnerving. Sometimes, George wanted to let himself sink into it and then never think about it ever again.
Dream scoffed. “I’m not dnf baiting. Sapnap was there too. If anything, I was Dream Team baiting.”

“What’re you gonna do? Leave?” George challenges. “No, you’re too desperate for that, am I right?”

“For practice,” George says vaguely.
“Practice.”
“Yes. Practice. For you. Because you need it. Desperately. Tragically.”

“So cold, Dream.” George shuffled closer, and between one breath and the next he was in Dream’s space. His face was the first thing to make contact, shooting a spark through Dream’s bloodstream as he pushed his nose into his chest. Then he sagged forward, all of his weight pushing Dream back into the counter, shivering arms coming up to clutch at the back of his shirt.
Dream was so startled by all of it that he just lifted his arms, hovering them over George’s shoulders. “George,” he said, feeling the sharp chill seep into his skin at every point of contact, “you’re hugging me.”
What would happen if George filmed his “Beating Minecraft Before I Freeze” video when he got to Florida? A lot of cuddles, apparently, and maybe something more.

Dream was leaning in, and he braced a hand on the side of George’s neck, and didn’t he know it was a joke? George tried to lean away, but the back of his head hit his chair. He couldn’t move, couldn’t breathe, and Dream was looking at him, like holy fuck, like he was gearing up for something catastrophic.
George’s thoughts wheeled dizzily through his mind. We’re in front of 100 thousand people, Dream. What the hell are you doing?
On a lazy Geoguessr stream, George decides to mess with the viewers. What happens when Dream doesn’t seem to realize it’s a joke?

He anticipates George, hears ‘why did you say it like that?’ so clearly it’s almost like he just said it aloud.
The sentence never comes. Instead George shifts, the feeling and sound of him coming from even closer, and his knees bump into Dream’s and stay there.

“Whatever,” George rolled his eyes, still smiling his lovesick smile. “Happy Valentine’s, Dream,” he spoke sarcastically, almost whimsically. And Dream watched him as he walked away, holding onto his words and the security of his zipped up backpack compartment.
or, Dream and George had known each other since they were four, but neither of them planned to become national tennis superstars in high school. The pressure gets worse when they find out that they might have been in love this whole time.

“Hi,” Mike called out faintly, without moving.
“Jesus.” Will’s voice was relieved. His footsteps drew closer. “Why didn’t you bring your walkie? Everyone’s been—oh.” He was beside him now, silhouetted in the moonlight. “Mike.”
“Hm?” Mike closed his eyes. He knew the face Will was making right now without having to actually see it—eyes wide, lips parted. Worried.
Will knelt beside him in the leaves. “When’s the last time you fed?”
“I don’t…” Mike cracked an eye open. Will was too pretty to lie to. “Yesterday afternoon, I think.”
“Okay,” Will said. His voice was tight. “It’s gonna be okay.”
A few moments passed. Will put the back of his hand to Mike’s forehead, and Mike leaned into the touch. This wasn’t so bad, really. He was weak, and everything ached, but at least Will was here.
“Hey,” Will said, breaking the silence. “Feed from me.”

His words are accompanied by a casual shrug, and said in the tone of someone who has clearly already given this subject some thought. Will doesn’t know what to do with that information. Jump from a building, maybe. “I mean, we’d all get flustered if Spider-Man carried us in his arms.”
Mike points to him enthusiastically. “Thank you, Lucas.”
Dustin looks between the two of them, his eyes narrowed.
“...Would we?”
“Sure,” Mike concludes. “He’s attractive. That’s not a weird thing to think.”
Will just barely resists the urge to bang his head against the table. He feels Dustin’s eyes glued to his burning face, and sinks even further down his chair.
In which Mike tells Spider-Man that he has a crush on his best friend, and Will jumps to some very wrong conclusions.
