“I was wondering if you were up for an interview?” Shane finally asks, trying not to think about how Ilya let his hand slide over his so slowly it was almost lingering when they both pulled away. Shane pulls up his notepad and pen, like showcasing your art materials when your kindergarten teacher tells you to take them out for coloring time. “I write for The Fulcrum.”
Ilya tilts his head, eyebrows furrowing slightly. “But we did not have game today.”
“Yes, uh..” Shane drops his things back down. “It's for a feature article.”
He presses his lips, taking a second before adding, “I wanted to write about you.”
Shane Hollander, a campus journalist, has to write a feature article. Enter Ilya Rozanov, an athlete so popular he was basically the face of the university.

Summary
The airport looks like it always does. A sea of people oblivious to anything going on around them. Ilya is about to put his headphones over his ears when he sees something so familiar his brain almost doesn't register it. That is until he realizes that he's in fucking Moscow so this doesn't make any sense.
Because right there at the gate, spread out over several chairs, his duffle bag as a pillow, is the figure of Shane Hollander sleeping. The hood of his sweatshirt is up and he's wearing sunglasses, but Ilya would recognize the shape of Shane Hollander anywhere.
“Hollander?” he asks in shock, stepping closer.
Or, Shane shows up in Russia after learning Ilya's father died. Ilya did not ask him to do this. He just showed up. And now Ilya doesn't know what to do with himself. He proceeds to just go with it, and maybe listen to Shane for once.
Another song inspired fic, this time Ever the Same by Rob Thomas which I argue is underrated.

Summary
Shane Hollander is a doctor and Ilya Rozanov has a broken collar bone.
But, he's also like, really annoyingly hot and its not like Shane would develop feelings for a patient because that's literally against the law. And like, hypothetically, when they wrote the laws, did they know that Ilya Rozanov was going to be part of the equation? Because if they did, do you think they'd rewrite the rules for this one guy?
