Summary
He slides off of the arm of the chair and onto where Duke gestured, trying not to land too heavy. As he does it he watches Robby’s expression change – concern melting away as he raises his eyebrows and runs a hand through his beard. He looks impressed. Dennis made the right move.
Duke sounds delighted, “There we go. Taking it like a man, aren’t you? Not so shy around a bit of attention.”
Dennis feels himself flush at this, it escapes no one’s notice and a moment of quiet falls in the garage. Some old rock tune in the background plays on. There’s a sense of anticipation; they want to know what Dennis will say.
“I can take it,” he repeats.
“Good man.”

Dennis has always struggled to fit in as one of the guys, so when Robby invites him out for a boys’ night, Dennis is anxious to prove that he belongs.

Whitaker’s head shot up, his brow furrowed. “Sir, I couldn't—”
“It's okay, I've had people feed from me before. This can be a temporary solution until we can set you up with a more stable supply. I know I can be a bit…” Robby trailed off, watching the corners of Whitaker’s lips quirk up. “But I care about all of my crew. That includes you. You're a great doctor, and I can’t have you making mistakes because you can’t afford to eat.”
Whitaker smiled. “Student doctor.”

Summary
Robby remembered little from his PT rotation. He knew when to refer someone to PT—strained backs or necks, for instance—but he could never guide someone through that sort of stuff. Which is why when Whitaker approaches him on a slow Thursday afternoon, he is confused to say the least.
“You want me to do…what exactly?”
Whitaker taps his fingers against the counter of the hub. “I’ve been in physical therapy for a few months,” he reiterates. “They’ve given me a bunch of stretches to do. I've been doing them, but I don't know if it's working. I mean, I don't know if I'm doing them right.”
Whitaker asks Robby for help with his physical therapy stretches, and Robby struggles to have normal feelings about his subordinate.

The first couple of dollars that the machine ate up without remorse were an annoyance, something that made Dennis sigh and unzip his wallet without thinking about it to try again. By the time that the vending machine had eaten seven whole dollars, in coins, and Dennis didn’t have anything to show for it, he was close to thumping his forehead against the cool glass and hoping he could derive some sort of enjoyment or nourishment from simply just looking at the colourful packages as they remained firmly in their coils.

Hell, he hadn't even heard about the celebration till Trinity, his ticket home is insisting they go. He doesn't even have a costume! Until they find Robby's hoodie and glasses forgotten in the breakroom. After a bit of pressure from Trinity, he shows up to the bar dressed as his attending. He just didn't anticipate Robby's reaction. Which is obviously anger. Why else would he stare at Dennis all night yet barely speak a word to him?
