"That wouldn't happen," Scott answered without missing a beat, as if the answer was as easy as breathing. "And, in the hypothetical that it did," he brought Nom's hands to his lips, planting a warm, soft kiss on his knuckles with care, as if Nom wasn't something to be feared, but rather treasured, worshiped, "I think we can sort it out together.
"I trust you, Nom."
Or: Scott convinces Nom to let him braid some dandelions into the crown resting on his head. Unbeknownst to both of them, this night will lead to a lot more than simple flowers on a crown.

Summary
Scott had no issue with Nom sticking to his back like a shadow at every occasion he got. Not when it came with that breath on his neck. Not when the rest of the crew left them together anytime it happened. Not when they already slept in that very position.
Even not when it was already way too hot to add Nom’s fever-high body temperature.
All Scott wanted to know was… why?
In asking, Scott received more than he had wagered. No complaints.Or, Scott gets tangled up in the vines of his mind. Nom finally sets him free.

Pyro points a finger at him, poking him right in the chest. The point of contact is warmer than Scott has been in days. "You don't get to tell me how to live my life."
Scott takes hold of his hand, both of his enclosing around the tan skin. "You can’t push everyone away and expect nothing to happen." He cuts Pyro off the second he sees the man try to butt in. "If you turn away from everyone who ever tries to care about you, you’ll end up dead." He'll forever deny the way his voice wavers over the word. He keeps his voice steady. "And no one will notice. They won’t care."
"Maybe I want that." Pyro sneers.

Summary
Pyro Dagmeare and Scott Borealith haven't seen each other in eight long, long years. Running into each other again at the Academy is completely unexpected. Pyro would've never expected Scott to be here, as set in his ways as he was. With a frosty reintroduction behind them, they get into a massive argument; an argument that reveals new abilities, and revives old feelings thought long dead.
