Summary
They haven’t seen each other in a month. Yibo’s been shuttling between Street Dance and various other commitments; Xiao Zhan has mostly been tied up with filming commercials and preparing for the next stop of his play in Hangzhou. Yibo should be happy to see him; is happy, is excited, is pleasantly surprised. He loves and adores Xiao Zhan with all his heart and is always happy to see him. Isn’t he?
But when he steps up to give Xiao Zhan a hug, he can’t bring himself to hold him for more than a few seconds before letting go and stepping away.
or;
Xiao Zhan surprises Yibo with a spontaneous visit to the SDC set. Yibo is less than pleased.

Jingyi thinks it’s slightly rude that when he had his meltdown over Wei-qianbei and Hanguang-jun not being together, the four of them had let it be, opting for a hands-off approach. But somehow, when it comes to Jin Ling’s panic over Jiang-guniang and Jin-gongzi, suddenly Sizhui and Zizhen are ready to get down and dirty with their scheming? It usually takes multiple attempts at bribery for Jingyi to get either of them onboard with anything this convoluted.
Granted, this is Jin Ling’s life. (Which is why it’s only slightly rude).
But, he sees the logic here. Jin-gongzi and Jiang-guniang’s marriage is essential for the future that Jingyi knows and loves. Even though the future is full of tragedy, his home is still his. Also, Jingyi would very much prefer not to lose his friend. He’s invested a lot into making Jin Ling a better person, thank you very much.

Wei Wuxian perishes and A-Yuan along with him. Without A-Yuan’s stabilising influence, Lan Wangji gives in to grief. While recovering from the lashes of the discipline whip, he plots his revenge. Lan Xichen returns from a trip to Jinlintai and comes home to a massacre. Thirty-three clan and sect elders are dead and, by the time he finds his uncle, so too is Shufu: all slain at the hands of the Second Jade.
Lan Xichen ends up trapped in the Hanshi, forced into a seclusion that is his only form of survival. For as long as he stays within its confines, his brother will not enter and take his life too. Lan Xichen must make a choice between a captive life and freedom in death.

bjyx short fics related to Street Dance of China 4
与子同袍 = yu zi tong pao or “battle for peace” according to sdc4 but actually a saying/line from a poem that literally means “share my robes with you” that was about soldier comradery in battle. The part of the poem goes something like if you don’t have a robe, i will share mine with you so basically what’s mine is yours/comradery/battle together (against a common enemy)/brother(s)-in-arms
It’s not really “battle for peace” but i also can't think of a phrase that works for it that could still be 4 characters long so I understand why sdc4 went with what they did
与战同袍 = yu zhan tong pao or a bad pun of the above that means “share my robes with zhan”/comradery with war/imply someone really into battling (for an even worse/dirty pun, 与战同炮 ...if you know, you know 😜)
