Summary
Regret is no stranger to Viktor anymore. Of course, when he stares into his partner’s metal face he remembers the golden, hazel eyes, the scar on his left eyebrow - one he wore with pride. His pouty lips, which could hold so much emotion regardless of his state.
It’s as if he’s there. Jayce Talis, the man he’d once talked off a ledge - the man who’d fiercely defended him, betrayed him, and the man Viktor betrayed in response.

Summary
Something is wrong with Viktor. He smiles less. Winces on the best of pain-days. Dreads the lab… and every night like clockwork, he disappears into the bathroom where only the faintest of sounds emerge.
Jayce doesn’t know what’s wrong but he’s determined to fix it. He thinks he might be losing his mind.
Or, Viktor is so pent up it should be a crime, Jayce thinks Viktor wants space, and the only solution is to make up and fuck each other’s brains out, lab safety be damned.

Viktor truly thought no one else would ever see his custom-made toy, let alone his roommate, who also happens to be Viktor’s brilliant partner and best friend. Who is straight, no matter how in love with him Viktor might be.
Except when Viktor accidentally leaves his tentacle in a shared space, Jayce gets an opportunity to correct a few assumptions.

Summary
Viktor stalked closer, eyes scanning over the unnamed human. A man, he soon realized, judging by his muscular frame. He was dressed in what used to be a white coat, now tarnished with dirt, sewage, and… blood. The man shifted slightly where he lay, the emblem on his shoulder glinting briefly in the faint light from above, only for a second.
Wait... That was--
The Talis emblem.
“Jayce?”
Throwing all caution to the wind, Viktor immediately dropped to his knees before Jayce, hands hovering over the man’s wounded form. To his surprise, Jayce flinched.
“You’re not real.”
OR:
Viktor begins having recurring nightmares of some ravine and tries to make sense of it, especially when Jayce suddenly appears at the center of it all.
