I maneuvered my wheelchair toward his bed. My heart raced as I got closer, the memory of his hands around my throat flashing in my mind. But was boosted my confidence to go this close was that he was restrained, tied securely to the bed, so I convinced myself it was safe.
I approached slowly.
Minho's head turned toward me again, and I swallowed hard.
"Hey," I said cautiously, keeping a careful distance.
He blinked at me, his expression blank. No words, no reaction.
Nothing in his eyes.
It was like I wasn't even there.
I let out a soft sigh, my shoulders sagging. The nurse had said he was gone, and now I believed her. His body was here, but his mind... it was somewhere else entirely.
Disheartened, I turned to wheel myself back to my bed when his voice stopped me in my tracks.
"I'm sorry."
I froze, my heart skipping a beat. Slowly, I turned back to face him, unsure if I'd imagined it.
"For trying to kill you..." he continued, his voice strained. "I-I'm really sorry. That must have been so terrifying to see."

The first time eomma had taken Jeongin a cup of tea he had lit up, so pleased yet so shy as he babbled thank yous, looking at Minho with a wide-eyed expression when her back was finally turned like he couldn’t believe it. It was the same as when he had first met the cats and Dori had crawled purring into his lap- his face screaming, they like me, hyung, they really like me! Ridiculous to Minho that he ever thought anyone wouldn’t like him, especially Minho’s own parents, who had birthed someone who loved Jeongin so deeply it was like it was written into his DNA. One of the many things Lee Minho was born to do: dance, eat, take care of his parents, and love Yang Jeongin.

“Sorry about earlier,” Jisung whispered to him. “I get mean when I’m nervous.”
“I make you nervous?” Minho asked him, not taking his eyes off the screen.
Or: Jisung goes to visit his Uncle’s ranch for the summer after a few years. It’s still the same as always, except they just hired a new ranch-hand named Minho.

Minho was sure Jisung never meant to make him feel this way, but looking at the younger, he couldn’t help but second guess himself.
Jisung was currently cuddled up next to Felix on the couch, both looking at some video on Jisung’s phone. It was cute to look at, almost domestic, almost like a couple. With the way they were pressed up against each other, the way Felix’s head rested on Jisung’s shoulder, the way they were so close — too close for them to just be friends.
But they were. At least, that’s what Minho tells himself.

Minho ouviu muito sobre o viúvo assim que pisou na cidade interiorana, seja de alguns fiéis no confessionário pedindo perdão pelos seus julgamentos, ou até mesmo de outros padres que lamentavam pelo frequentador mais assíduo da igreja. Acabou criando sem perceber uma pequena obsessão pelo homem de olhos opacos que diariamente visitava seu confessionário e murmurava palavras baixas, serenas, mas tão vazias quanto a imensidão de seus olhos negros.
Jeongin tinha segredos e Minho queria desvendar cada um deles, mesmo que aquilo custasse sua imaculável pureza.
E mesmo que profanasse seu corpo e o sacrificasse tão gentilmente, Minho não se arrependeria de trocar o céu pelo inferno desde que tivesse Jeongin lá.
