Roach dies the first time to Shadows putting a bullet into his chest. He expects that to be the end of his life. No comfort, just dark crying skies as he dies on the streets of Las Almas, Ghost’s voice yelling to him through his comms as Soap leaves him to survive.
He didn't expect to wake up on the wet cobblestone of Las Almas and see blue eyes filled with worry above him. He didn’t expect to see Soap again and hear Ghost’s voice again. Didn’t expect to see it all happen before his eyes again and again, over and over, as if some divine being was torturing him, playing with him as if he were a toy.
He expected to be welcomed with the cold arms of death once, but he really must’ve pissed in a god’s cereal in his past life didn’t he?
Or: Roach is in a time loop and has to keep himself and everyone alive while also putting his sanity on the line.

In fact, all he really remembers after the strange woman fled his house with Rose in tow is chasing after them, exploding with mold, and then suddenly sitting on his kitchen floor with Rose in his lap and Chris Redfield on the phone. Ethan had to be relocated yet again, this time to a remote village where few like him and even fewer make good company. As he struggles to cope with his loss and contend with his concerning newfound moldiness, one of the village's four lords takes an unwanted interest in him. To make an already dismal situation worse, someone has begun leaving dead animals outside his home and watching him through his windows.

After seeing the RE 7 and 8 (Village) I can't help but think some things need to be mildly tweaked. And by mildly tweaked I mean a complete rewrite where Mia gets yeeted out of the picture and one familiar Ex-cop helps a poor Engineer escape a living nightmare and then they become good friends. Somewhere along the line Chris and Claire help Ethan as much as possible and it'll be good I promise.
This is an AU in its own way, and it is also a rewrite of the story of 7 and 8. Plenty of references to the older games will be in here as our boy Leon S. Kennedy is going to make sure Ethan doesn't die on us. Again.

Summary
Tommy has given up. He's tired, he's sick and he thinks he might just die. It has been weeks since he entered exile and it's about time he left it. He's lulled away by a siren song from the sea and sets off on a shoddy raft with the hope of escape.
Theres something clearly wrong with Lizzie. She's gotten taller, her skin is off color and it's almost as if she can feel her empire breathe beneath her skin. Yet she's putting on a strong front and pretending that everything is the same. Maybe if she can ignore it for long enough it will stop.
Despite all this, the pair's paths cross as Tommy sick and delrious ends up on the Ocean Empire's shore. Lizzie now has to take on the responsibility of both her kingdom and this hurt child as she comes to terms with the changes.
