Summary
Ilya was used to hazing. He had been subjected to it, he had participated in it, and, as a captain, he had stood guard over the rookies and protected them from anything truly harmful. But if he had been asked, Ilya would have approved of this prank. He would have authorized it, given Cliff and Vicky his seal of approval, perhaps even helped orchestrate it.
Any other day, Ilya might have been happy to play along.
But, in perfect dramatic irony, it had not happened any other day. It had happened today. And, cherry on top, of course the rookie had to walk in when Shane was already freaking out about Ilya saying his name.

A prank-gone-wrong leads to the Boston Bears finding out about Shane and Ilya’s relationship in 2016. The day Ilya first invited Shane into his house. Right after they say each other’s names for the first time. Fuck his life, honestly.

Summary
Shane is in a post-game interview when his world stops.
He’s just answered a question about Montreal’s offensive strategy going into the game. Clean passes, avoid penalties, draw defenders wide. It had worked and the Voyagers had beat Colorado soundly, 4-1. Shane had scored two of the goals and assisted on a third.
Usually, Shane would be eager to boast about the win to Ilya. But ever since their fight- since Ilya told Shane to leave- winning feels hollow. Losing feels better, somehow. As if Shane deserves to lose after being so selfish. Ilya gave up everything for him- his home, his team, and to some extent- his happiness. Hockey. Ilya gave up hockey- good hockey- for Shane.
A ripple goes through the room of reporters. Shane swears he hears the word ‘Ottawa’ and ‘crash’. But no one is paying attention to him anymore.
“What’s going on?” he asks into the microphone, feeling strange at the role reversal. Usually, he’s the one being asked questions.
No one answers. And this time he knows that he hears the word ‘Ottawa’ and ‘Centaurs’.

Garrett nodded immediately. “Okay.”
“I can’t—” Dean sucked in a breath that sounded too close to a sob for anyone to survive acknowledging it. “I can’t fucking be here.”
“Okay,” Garrett said again, softer now. “I’ve got you.”
Dean laughed, but it broke in the middle.
“Do you?”
Garrett’s face went still.
For one terrible second, the question hung there between them, bigger than Hunter, bigger than Logan, bigger than Allie and her stupid assignment and the blood drying on Dean’s hand.
Then Garrett put one hand on the back of Dean’s neck and squeezed.
“Yeah,” he said roughly. “I do.”My take on what happened after the S1 finale and what I think Jules wasn't telling us about Hunter and Summer but also my personal campaign to make Garrett Graham parent Dean against his will plus a bonus whump Dean chapter that exists solely because I lack self-control and an overnight third chapter because apparently your comments convinced me this fic wasn't chaotic enough without Summer, and me finally giving up and turning this into a one-shot collection.
