Summary
It's the early 20th century. Even was caught with another boy, but his rich parents have just the solution: A valet. Isak is hired by Even's parents to be his valet and his 'pressure relief valve', so there aren't anymore scandals.

“You can have me,” said Isak, looking at the wall beyond Even, his face flushed pink. “My mouth or….”
Even’s eyebrows shot up. He contemplated this fact for a moment. “So I pour all my unnatural desires into you," Even stepped forward toward the shorter boy, “and like a confessional booth, I can leave it all in you and walk away with my soul lighter and absolved.”
Even’s lurid analogy and his proximity left Isak without words. Which was fine, because he figured he was meant to be silent anyway.
“And since you’re conveniently inside the house, my father can keep our little arrangement safe from society gossip.”

Summary
Despite growing up in the shadow of his dad’s legacy, Isak Valtersen makes it to Norway’s elite U19 hockey training camp with a chance to play at the World Juniors Championships. Isak just wants to keep his head down, play his best and keep his eyes to himself in the locker room.
Then there’s Even Bech Næsheim, Norway’s hockey prodigy, who's as cocky as he is talented. Everyone seems to love Even. Isak kind of hates him. On principle.
Things may have gotten off on the wrong skate, but when Isak and Even are thrown together on the same line, things get heated on and off the ice. Sometimes the line between love and hate is a crack in the ice so fine, Isak can't remember which side he's on.
