Summary
Van also knows they need to lock the fuck in. This isn't the time for relationships; it's never good to date in the workplace - they know that now, and relationships are complicated, and it's always a struggle that Van didn't have the time to deal with. Van commits hard, and that often backfires.
Eye candy, eye candy is fine. Van loves candy. Something nice to look at is okay, and a little flirt never hurt anyone. It won't be anything serious, Van won't let it, and who knows if the girl is even into girls, but the jewelry says enough.

“I’m sure the ladies go crazy for those arms of yours,” Taissa said, voice sugar-sweet, her brown eyes glimmering with appraisal as they tracked over her form. They lingered on her biceps, making Van feel a little hot under the collar. So, Tai most definitely liked girls.
“Buy me dinner first,” Van replied, leaning forward on her arms as she met Taissa with what she hoped was a flirty smile, letting the new surge of confidence wash over her. Meanwhile, her heart was running circles in her chest.
Tai didn’t pull away. “Not a dinner,” she said, fingers tapping on the marble, “but my friends are having a party next Friday to celebrate the end of midterms. You should come.”

Van runs headfirst into a girl holding a pile of textbooks, and it all spirals from there.
