He's also excited to meet so many of them while staying "rent-free" in the basement at a local dwarf-owned inn because he pays with his company, platonic and otherwise. He swears he can smell burning trees, burning flesh, stark against the crisp cold of fresh snow. He can hear the howl of beasts, noise that always seems to echo through his dormitory even after he wakes from a nightmare. Olruggio knows it's not the same, knows the harbor is miles and years from Noz. And yet. And yet.
The specifics are lost to him–which twists and turns brought him here, how far away he’s run from the harbor, what finally buckled his knees and brought him down to meet the cool stone of a narrow alley.

Summary
There were three major social faux pas in witching society. Chief among these was the use or casting of forbidden magic, a egregious offense that would call for the caster's memories to be taken from them. Left to be discarded as nothing more than a boogeyman whispered between children. The second, much less offensive then the use of forbidden magic but almost crueler with its affliction would be the crime of being deemed unfit to cast. Whether it be the absense of a steady hand or the lack of perfect eye sight, it truly was a pitiful fate to fall into.
The last one, a social crime that Tetia has found herself in through no fault of her own, was being an apprentice without a master.
At night, she’d dream of a fluffy cloud that would cradle her. The cloud was warm and soft and enveloped her in its comfort like a blanket. In her dreams, instead of the threadbare smock she had she was wearing perfectly tailored dresses that swished like the robes the adult witches would wear. Her shoes would fit, whether they be the slippers princesses would wear or boots that wouldn’t be separating at the sole with each step.
One thing she was never able to dream away was hunger.

Each chapter is a different slice of life moment from the pov of Qifrey or Olruggio. Starts with Agott coming to the atelier and goes from there. Fluff and love but also a good amount of angst because they are full of angst and yearning and love.
Spoilers for chapter 88 of the manga.

“What are you doing?” Qifrey looked up to find Olly standing in the hall, one eyebrow slightly quirked.
Qifrey meant to say he was fine, that he was just remembering their days as apprentices, that Agott was settling in well, or even that Olly was so good with her.
What he actually said was, “what if she drowns in the bath?”

Summary
"How much did you pay for these?" he asks.
Ah, just expenses? "Not much," Olruggio says, stepping around the counter to lean against Qifrey's side, arm wrapping around his waist comfortably. "I got a good deal."
Qifrey relaxes some. He turns his face to nuzzle against Olruggio's neck and he leans his head back in response, giving more room for Qifrey to press against his pulse.
"Oh dear," Qifrey sighs, turning his face to rub his cheek against Olruggio's cloak. "I'm afraid I have a secret to tell you."
