Summary
Azura was a normal sixteen year old girl, living on her father's farm, tending the fields. But then she found out her father promised her to their neighbor Sazon. If she didn't want to end up like his last wife she had to flee.
Unrest was brewing with the earth Kingdom and Sozin has called for volunteers -- she intended to enlist in his army.
At home her gift for firebending was an unwanted surprise and a thing she was punished for.
But in the army it makes her a valuable soldier. Finally she will have the chance to master the gift she was forced to subdue her entire life.
But she has a lot to learn, and keeping up with the rest of the soldiers is harder than she anticipated. If her gender is found out she will have to pay with her life.
Tldr: Avatar meets Mulan, set before the Air nomad genocide.
