“You’re insufferable,” he hissed. “Actually insufferable. If you vanished tomorrow, I would personally throw a parade.”
Harry leaned in again, chin propped on his hand, dimples in full force. “Cute parade? Pink streamers? Princess-themed?”
Louis made a sound that was halfway between a groan and a scream, grabbed his notebook, and buried his face in it. “I hope you fall in the fountain on your way home. And then get pneumonia. And then fail your finals.”
Harry beamed at him like Louis had just proposed marriage. “God, you’re adorable when you threaten me.”
Or- Louis is just trying to graduate without losing his mind — but apparently the universe has other plans, because Harry keeps showing up in the uni coffee shop, grinning like he’s flirting on purpose (he definitely is). Between coffee shop bickering, campus fair chaos, and way too many run-ins with the man, Louis’ biggest problem isn’t hating Harry anymore… It’s pretending he doesn’t want to climb him like a tree.

“Hi.”, Louis says and Harry doesn’t answer. The taller boy takes the cigarette from Louis’ fingers and places it between his own lips.
Louis doesn’t fight it, because Harry looks hot when he smokes.
“Why are you sad, Louis?”
Louis blinks up at the question taking him by surprise. The smoke vanishes in the air and he’s now face to face with Harry, who seems to be closer now.
“I’m not sad.”, he lies.
Harry stares at him for a moment, before he takes another drag from the cigarette and leans down so he’s at the same eye level with Louis.
And okay, now Louis panics.

Summary
The plane is finally stabilized in the air, unfortunately Louis’ stress isn’t, anxiety and panic bubbling inside of him. All he can think about is how he is going to survive the longest flight of his life. He puts his airpods in, starts whatever playlist he prepared for the flight on shuffle while he is still embarrassingly hyperventilating. He closes his eyes, clutching onto his hoodie like his life depends on it when he feels a finger gently poking at his shoulder. He opens his eyes, taking one of his airpods off to hear a deep whisper, “Are you- Are you alright?” The voice is laced with worry. “You’re kind of scaring me. Are you afraid of flights?”
The stranger seems genuinely concerned and it makes Louis want to cry even more. He doesn’t reply, simply shakes his head and thinks for a moment. Nothing can really get any worse at the moment so he grabs his phone from his lap, opens his note app and types, ‘MY EX IS SITTING BEHIND US WITH HIS NEW GIRLFRIEND’ .

In some ways, Harry felt like Louis was his older sibling as much as Gemma was. He certainly showed just as much affection as Gemma did. Whenever Harry would succeed in something they knew was difficult, both Gemma and Louis would celebrate by placing a loud, smacking kiss on Harry’s forehead.
As they got older, Gemma pulled back her affections. She was tired of her brother constantly hanging around, and she found ways to elude him. Harry couldn’t blame her, really. The hardest part for him, though, was not being able to be around Louis as often.
Louis never withdrew his physical affection like Gemma did, though. He continued giving Harry kisses on his forehead, much the same way he did with the ever growing number of younger sisters he had at home, to say hello and goodbye. Harry had come to rely on it. Gemma would bid him hello and goodbye with a soft smack on the side of his head, and Louis would kiss him wherever her hand had landed.
Or the one where Harry was always Louis' best friend's younger brother...until they grow up and once innocent forms of affection come to mean a little bit more.
