...An unfortunate woman named Padmé Amidala, who lives an overall hopeless life, comes across 9.9 million dollars and does whatever she can to keep it. Obi-Wan Kenobi, a former detective, tries to uncover the truth behind his brother's death. When they find themselves thrown together by the circumstances, the two of them will have to fight the monsters and darkness around them and inside them- as well as managing the building tension between them.

One sunny afternoon, things are shaken up when a boy steals white lilies from the flower shop's porch and she meets his agitated older brother who tries to smooth over the incident.
Set in 1990 with no historical context except for the Ownership Act's recent signing.

Padme's smile widens into a grin, "Love and loyalty. Two things I believe we display well." After awhile, she adds: "Let's never stop the practice being a chrysanthemum."

She's his friend, and that's the hard part. He knows his turn will hurt her, and that by hiding in her ship to get to him, he's using her. Which is why after all of that and so much more, he's not ready to loose her.
Or, a RotS AU where the Jedi found out about Palpatine and the Empire sooner, but still too late. Featuring some Obidala undertones, because I ship it.

this story wasn't supposed to extend, but the one shot was too good to just reduce it to another part of "obidala's flowers". but hey, this has now become one of my most favorite AUs i've ever written :)
