“Does Steve know you’re cheating on him?” Eddie asks on one of those days where Billy had ‘forgotten’ his wallet, the two of them on Eddie’s bed this time, as he lights up and pulls from the post-‘payment’ joint they always share.
“What, with you?” Billy scoffs. He takes his turn with the joint and looks at Eddie like he’s being ridiculous. “This isn’t cheating. We’ve never kissed and we’ve never even actually fucked. It doesn’t count.”
“So he doesn’t know,” Eddie confirms.
“Of course he doesn’t. And he never will.” Billy’s smile is cold and doesn’t reach his eyes, which hold behind them an unmistakable threat: or else. His humorless laugh is even colder. “He doesn’t even know I buy from you, Munson. I keep your filthy name as far away from mine as possible. That was the deal, wasn’t it?”

Summary
Steve grabs Eddie by the arm and marches him deeper into the apartment like he’s trying to make extra sure they’re not overheard. “Do you have a problem with Jordan?”
“What? No.” Eddie immediately wipes the remaining coldness from his expression. “No. I have no issue with him. He’s a decent dude,” he says, and he really is. Eddie has no rational reason to feel such animosity towards him. “He’s sweet, he’s good to you, you seem happy.”
“Yeah, he is. I am.” Hands on his hips, Steve regards Eddie with a stern and questioning look usually reserved for his middle school students. “It’s just—you’ve been kind of sullen and grumpy and honestly rude whenever he’s around lately. Every time you see him or he tries to say hi to you or anything, you glare at him like he just smashed your guitar. So…are you sure you don’t have a problem with him?”
“Ah. No, I just, uh—” Chastized, Eddie shakes his head and attempts to laugh it off. “Robin thinks I’m just a joyless bastard who hates love.”

“Well, if it makes you feel better, I think your boyfriend’s a fucking idiot,” the bartender says bluntly. He gives a grin that's equal parts friendly solidarity and casual flirtation as he presses a hand dramatically to his chest and adds, “If I had gotten lucky enough to bag a decent and devastatingly gorgeous guy like you, I don't think I'd ever leave his side.”
Steve laughs and his heart feels lighter. “Thanks, man, I appreciate it.” He finishes off the last sip of his drink, only just now beginning to become aware of the buzz of it in his veins. “I’m Steve, by the way.”
“Eddie.” The bartender—Eddie—clears Steve's empty glass off the counter. “Are you starting a tab, Steve?”

“Pathetic. Fucking pathetic. How could I ever love you? When this is what you’ve become? You think this is what I want? You?” Eddie bends over him, hands on his knees to brace himself. “It’s bullshit, Harrington. I could never love someone like you.”
In a fit of desperation, or maybe just pure stupidity, Steve fists his fingers in Eddie’s shirt and yanks. Eddie hisses in surprise and topples into Steve’s lap and for one breathless, suspended moment, their mouths crush together.
Eddie freezes, lips unmoving against Steve’s, and then he’s pulling himself away with a ragged gasp. He stares at Steve for a heartbeat, for two, and then–
Pain.

Or, Eddie gets Vecna’d, and Steve goes in after him. But it isn’t quite Eddie that he finds once he’s in there.

Summary
Eddie starts smoking a lot of weed when he gets out of the hospital. Not that he didn’t before, but he smokes a lot more now than he did before the hospital and everything that put him there.
Now that monsters are real, though, the usual paranoia he feels has ramped up to two hundred percent. He calls the best monster hunter he knows, even if they haven't talked much at all since the initial monster hunting.

Summary
“Fucking figures,” Eddie mutters, turning on his heels, resigning himself to spending the night in his van, hoping that the new sheriff won’t find him and write him up.
But just as he takes a step towards his van, the door opens behind him, and when he glances back, he finds a bleary-eyed Steve Harrington peeking through the opening.
His eyes widen the moment he sees him and Eddie can’t help but notice that he also relaxes a little, like he was expecting something worse than the town’s freak knocking on his door in the middle of the night.
“Munson?” He says, his eyebrows furrowing.
Eddie gives him a dorky salute. “Evening, Your Majesty!”
“What are you doing here?” He asks, but then Eddie steps into the porch light, and he gasps. “Jesus, man. What happened to you?”
