Summary
The rest of the journey is silent , Michael chain smoking the rest of his Redwoods as Trevor turns the radio and hums tunelessly to whatever song happens to play. He feels like he's going to throw up, the guilt, shame and nicotine causing chaos with his brain chemistry. He hates himself, he hates Trevor and hates the implication of their working relationship going forward. That's what it was supposed to be, a working relationship. He liked what they had, two mismatched outlaws, taking scores and scorching the earth behind them, a bond forged in gunfire and blood, learning from each other and creating a well-oiled criminal machine. They weren't supposed to be two young guys messing around in a truck like horny teenagers.

Franklin's heart dropped.

“Shut the fuck up”, Trevor hissed, “You're always so high and fucking mighty, pretending like you're something better, only fucking me drunk and high, only using my affection when you're a pathetic mess nobody else would like to touch except me. I -”
“Trevor”, Michael abruptly cutting in, “Trevor, don't -”
“I love you.”
The words felt like a gunshot and suddenly everyfuckingthing about Michael and Trevor made sense.
