“Fuck.” Shane melted into the strong hand at his neck, the pressure over his throat and the heat of the Alpha’s palm. “Fuck, that’s–” his eyes started to flutter closed, his knees going weak, but he heard the Alpha huff a laugh and immediately stiffened again.
“Don’t do that.” he warned. “Don’t laugh like me letting you put your hand on my throat is predictable submissive Omega behavior and you're making fun of me."
“That is not why i was laughing.” Ilya squeezed Shane’s throat lightly, his thumb pressing over the suppressant patch covering the Omega's bonding spot and blocking his sweet scent. “I thought you would fight it, fight submitting. But you didn’t.”
“No I–” Shane swallowed hard. “I like it.”
“Good.” Ilya smiled slow and a little dangerous, running his tongue over his bottom lip and then over the sharp ends of his fangs before he leaned in and growled into the Omega’s ear. “Now get on your knees.”

He’s curled up in a hospital bed, one of the wide ones, for nesting. The metal rails on either side are helping to keep the pillows and blankets in a vaguely nest shape.
It scents a lot like another Omega, somehow familiar, but not Shane. David most likely, since Shane does not look in any fit state to build a nest. But Ilya’s brain dismisses the scent of another Omega. Not a threat; doesn’t matter.
Ilya strips his shirt and ditches it in the same moment as he works his shoes off by stepping on the heels. He drops his sweatpants too. He hears Yuna growl. He really doesn’t care.

So, he is stuck forever-wondering if his seams show. If there is straw poking out. If the crows fear him, or are only pretending. “My dear Sam,” Frodo sighs, thumbing back and forth over the hewn pattern in his mug. It is a large earthenware alehorn Thorin made, and there are dwarfish runes carved into the sides. Sam has loved this mug since he was a child, and would trace the shapes with the tip of his fingers, wondering what mysterious things the runes held inside, what they meant. If they were love poems to Bilbo, which he chose to believe, at first because it felt scandalous, and later, because it gave him hope. If he has the option to choose the mug he brews tea for Frodo in, he still chooses this one. “You take such very good care of me,” Frodo murmurs.
“Well, yes, sir,” Sam says, blushing. It is my job.”
