“Didn’t think it was important,” he shrugs, still picking at the peeling leather. There’s a particularly stubborn piece that seems to be glued down well and he’s determined to peel it up.
“Of course it’s important, Sungie,” Minho says. “And now suddenly—”

His favorite part of this sweatshirt is the way it still smells a bit like Chan, woody, and a bit of bergamot—like home. Jeongin wishes he could be ashamed of the way he steals his hyung’s shirt every week, wishes he could come up with better excuses than, “You stole my blanket, so you owe me your sweater,” but he isn’t, and he can’t. Chan always smiles so fondly at him, immediately taking off whatever outerwear he’s wearing to give to Jeongin.

Jin-ho grins, tossing aside his crumbled-up coaster in favour of his beer. “I have a potential client who needs round the clock protection for his son, but my men are a thin on the ground right now, and I don’t want to just put anyone in there. I need someone I can trust.”
Seungcheol grimaces, running his thumb along the condensation on the side of his bottle.
“I don’t think I’d be very good with kids.”“He’s not a kid. He’s actually a very mature, very responsible twenty-five-year-old. A little spoilt, I won’t lie, but he’s also quiet, smart, and more than pulls his weight when it comes to the family business. He doesn’t go out looking for trouble.”

Jin-ho looks up briefly, and then away. It isn’t like him to be skittish. “He’s an unbonded Omega.”
Seungcheol curls his lip, nodding, “Ah, so Daddy’s worried about the wrong kind of Alpha sniffing about.”
He supposes that makes sense; a sensible investment if you've got the money. Except...what the hell made Jin-ho think he’d be the right kind?”

Jeongin throws an arm over his face, even though the darkness is already shielding him. “Y-you’d really… even though I never…” he stutters, but Chan understands him, like he does so often when Jeongin’s words don’t pull through.
“I would,” the other replies truthfully. “I trust you and I know you trust me. I know that I’d- I would do it right.” There’s no doubt he wouldn’t.
“You’re my best friend…” Is all Jeongin manages, his mind clouded with the idea of Chan touching him more than he already is, of them being even closer.
“And you’re mine,” Chan replies, and it’s that easy.
