Softly, you admitted, "It reminds me of us, a little. Sometimes I wonder if our meeting was fate. If it was written in red, somewhere in the stars."
"Red," I repeated. "Like astrophage."
If our meeting was truly written in the red of astrophage, then it would mean that the stars started dying for us—that the entire galaxy mourned for them by singing a dirge, and it was loud enough to be heard in the vast silence of the Big Nothing.
Perhaps the universe was torn in two a long time ago and is trying to pull the broken halves back together. For everything comes from stardust, from planets and moons to humans and Eridians. For across trillions of miles' worth of space and billions of years' worth of time, we existed at just the right parameters to have met each other. Then, perhaps the universe made me to love you, and perhaps the universe made you to be loved.
Perhaps that is what you call fate.
Or: Grace confesses his love. Rocky struggles to do the same, though not for the reasons you might think.

Summary
Rocky's voice is a bit staticky through his robot's speakers, but the frustration in it can be heard clear as day. "No, go left. Left, Grace, are you stupid!? You don't have to fight that guy!"
"It's fine," Ryland grunts as he swings his staff right at the incoming monster. "I can handle myself!"
"Try saying that again when your pretty face gets its shit kicked in."
"You think I'm pretty!?"
Rockbot freezes, going eerily still. Then, the actual Rocky shouts, "pretty annoying!"
There's a small click as the comms cut off abruptly, and the robot's antenna droops as it shuts down. Next to Ryland, Colt grumbles, "Ry, don't piss off our only way out."
Or: In a post-apocalyptic world, Grace is a Hollow raider that dives headfirst into dangerous territory to make a quick buck. Rocky and Adrian are his proxies—the voices behind the robots that help him navigate the hollows and guide him out of trouble.
Technically, they're not supposed to mix business with romance. But this whole operation is illegal anyway, so what's one more crime to add to the list?

Summary
That is to say, in the pursuit of knowledge, scientists can do some really fudging dumb things.
The scientist in question? Doctor Captain Ryland Grace. The research design? Experimental. The line of inquiry? Whether the multibillion-dollar extensive healthcare system—a glorified nanny bot, really—aboard a spaceship hurtling into deep space could serve as a substitute for human touch. That is to say, a substitute for human touch in the interest of touch starvation… as a, uh, secondary objective. Because the primary objective involves… er… usecaseinsexualendeavors.
Ergo: Grace wants to turn Armando into a fuck machine.
Or: Grace and Rocky struggle with intimacy due to biological constraints. So, they decide to use Armando as a way to bridge the gap. However, when it comes to these two, things don't always go according to plan.
