Shane Hollander ✅ @shanehollanderofficial
I’ve seen many publications over the years speculating on my own, and my husband’s, hockey stats and accolades in relation to our romantic relationship and when the public assumes it started. We don’t owe this to anyone. But we’ve also been playing professional hockey for seventeen years and we’ve both run out of ahem, cares to give.
On the right is a photograph from the behind the scenes of our joint CCM advertisement in July of 2010. This photo predates the hundreds of combined accomplishments listed on the left.
Oh, and it was also taken about six hours before our first kiss.
-----
or; a year from retirement and out of fucks to give, shane reveals their timeline to twitter in response to the latest speculatory article on their relationship. hollanovs across the world rejoice, centaurs celebrate their beloved dads, and former teammates share the not-so-subtle clues they missed the first time.

Summary
The Russian’s empty seat was filled by a new player. New money, by the loud cut of his jacket. High-tech or crypto, likely. Young. Late twenties maybe, with the kind of cocksure posture that meant he’d won big elsewhere and thought luck was a skill. He settled into the chair and did a double take when he noticed Buck.
“That’s a beautiful Omega you’ve got there,” the American said. His words toed on the line of lecherous and admiring. Like he was commenting on a vintage car instead of a human being. His eyes lingered on Buck’s neck.
Buck could sense the divot between Eddie’s eyebrows without even looking. “Thank you. He’s my lucky charm. Aren’t you, sweetheart?”
Under the high-stakes glare of an elite casino floor, Buck spends hours playing the role of Eddie's beautiful trophy Omega while seated right on his cock.

Summary
See, Eddie wasn’t some kind of traditionalist. He didn't care about old-fashioned gender roles. He didn't think omegas belonged stuck in a kitchen, and he didn't think alphas had to be the absolute bosses of everything. But he did believe in instincts. He believed in the natural order of things and what a body was meant to do.
And looking at Buck, Eddie drew his own quiet conclusions: Buck was living in the wrong shell. He was miserable trying to force himself into the alpha mould, running himself ragged trying to live up to a biology that didn't fit his soul.
Buck would be so much happier, so much better off, if he could just be an omega.
In which, Eddie helped Buck become the omega he was meant to be.

Summary
Eddie’s terrified. The weight lodged in his chest has shifted to complete and utter panic. His skin is hot. His eyes are burning. There was once a time when he’d say, I do not panic, but even that was a lie. Eddie panics a lot, actually. But he’s been taught how to manage it, how to make himself Jello, how to bring himself back to reality.
But this reality is what’s panic-inducing, and he can’t Jello himself out of this one.
Because he’s not scared for himself. Eddie’s killed men before. More than four at a time. Eddie’s, objectively, been in worse situations than this. Eddie’s been shot and stabbed and buried.
But he’s never been in a situation like this, with a four-year-old who means the world to him, a four-year-old who’s Buck’s son.

Summary
“I’m not his husband.”
“Virtually,” Maddie repeats like it changes anything.
“What does that even mean?” Eddie protests weakly, his back to her so he doesn’t see through his lies. “We’re just friends.”
Maddie sighs, so loud that Eddie has no choice but to turn around to face her. When he does, her gaze pierces right through him, telling him lying will not get him anywhere.
“Eddie. If you think no one can see the way you look at him, you’re delusional.”

Summary
The Frontier is a good truck. He knows that. Reliable, practical, decent on gas for its size — Buck had done research before he bought it, had shown Eddie a spreadsheet, an actual spreadsheet, color-coded, and Eddie had looked at it and then looked at Buck and thought something very specific that he hadn’t been ready to name yet either. That was before. This is after. The point is; the truck is good.
But it’s not Buck.

Summary
He couldn't tear his eyes away from his phone. The more he rewatched the videos of Ilya and the more he scrolled, the more he realized he was truly, deeply fucked.
It was quickly becoming undeniable that the Jane he'd been talking about was Shane. He was feeling these emotions because of Shane which was… confounding, to say the least. Shane didn't quite know how he was supposed to feel about this. There wasn't exactly a manual for how to deal with your ex-something very publicly dedicating sad, terrible karaoke to you. Something like that would probably have a really niche customer base.
Or, videos of Ilya doing drunk karaoke at the Boston Bears 2016 Christmas party go viral. Shane... handles it.

Summary
I’ve known Buck longer than you’ve been alive. He’s never taken you to the zoo or driven you to school or cooked you your favourite meal from scratch just because you asked. He’s never saved you from a tsunami. He’s never held you through nightmare after nightmare. He’s never come back from the dead because you told him to. He’s never sacrificed himself over and over and over to keep you safe. He’s never loved you like he loves me.
Logically, Christopher knows there’s a reason Buck hasn’t done any of these things for Theo. He hasn’t been given the chance to. Yet.

“What, Buck?”
“I’m bored,” he whines.
“I’m busy. Come hang out in the kitchen if you want company.”
“So far. Couch comfy.”

The sweetest smile Buck has ever worn adorns his face. “I wanna be flirted with,” he says brightly.

Jee-Yun reaches up and sets the crown on his hair. It doesn’t sit right at first, sliding sideways over his forehead. She fixes it, pushing it back until it stays.
There.
“Now you’re a princess,” she says.
He glances at her, one eyebrow lifting. “A princess, huh?”
She nods. “I’m the boss princess.”
“Ah,” he says. “And I’m…?”
She thinks about it.
“Helper princess.”
He presses his lips together like he’s trying very hard not to laugh too much.
“Got it,” he says. “Helper princess reporting for duty.”

“I’m in love with him,” Eddie blurts out.
For a second, they stare at each other. Eddie’s mouth opens in shock. As for Maddie, she starts… laughing? Which. Okay. Eddie would like to state that it’s rude to laugh at someone who admitted their love for your brother.
Or a coda to 9x15. Buck isn't okay and Eddie is feeling a lot

Summary
Maddie’s eyebrows rise, and she looks past Buck to Eddie, the corners of her mouth curling upwards. “My kisses don’t work on Uncle Eddie,” she says, and if she thinks Buck misses the way she says it—Uncle Eddie—she’s sorely mistaken. He knows exactly what she’s doing.
And he realizes too late that that means he should probably be afraid.
Jee gasps, eyes going wide. “What?” She asks breathlessly. “Then how will his ouchies get better?”
Maddie hums thoughtfully—performatively—before her eyes slowly slide over to Buck. He starts to shake his head, unsure exactly what she’s about to do but deeply aware that he’s not going to like it. “I have heard,” she says, leaning into her like she has a secret, “That best friend kisses are just as good as mommy kisses.” She tosses her hair over her shoulder and looks at Chimney. “And almost as strong as daddy kisses, too.”

Summary
Dear Captain Nash,
I know this email is kind of out of the blue, but I didn’t know who else to reach out to. I’m not even sure how to start this email. One time Buck and I signed up for this pen pal program, but the kid in Maine I was writing with gave up after two rounds of letters. It was during my ancient Egypt phase and I think I scared him off with my questions about mummies. Buck told me I was too cool for him anyway.
or
When Chris starts going to church in Texas he reaches out to the only person he can think of who might have some answers, meanwhile Eddie uses his email to try and talk to God, and Buck... well Buck online shops mostly.
A season 8 rewrite told only through email.

“We should make it a road trip, Eddie! We never hang out anymore, Eddie! It’ll be so fun, Eddie!” Eddie mimics, his voice trailing as he disappears into the tiny bathroom connected to their Budget Queen motel room.
“We’re not stranded,” Buck scoffs. “And you weren’t saying that when you were stuffing your face with the tamales that I found, or the cherry pie that I read about.”

Summary
“I’m trying not to make it about me.”
The words seem to stop Eddie in his tracks—but only for a fleeting moment. Then, “Okay, then let me.”
Buck blinks, ignoring the feeling of a single tear fighting past the edge of his lashline. Instantly, he swipes it away. “What?”
“Let me make it about you. Talk to me. I want to know what’s going on with you. I’m not gonna be able to focus on this god awful dinner if I’m worried that you’re alone, and upset, and—”
“I miss you,” Buck confesses, abruptly, because anything else he wants to say right now is too raw, too real.
Eddie exhales into the microphone of his phone. “Yeah. Yeah, I—I know. I miss you, too.”
“No, I miss you. More than I’m supposed to, I think.”
“I’m your best friend, bud,” Eddie tells him. “I think you’re supposed to miss me. We’re eight hundred miles apart.”
Miserably, Buck shakes his head. “Not like this.”
Or: Buck finally unpacks and stumbles across a box Eddie left behind, full of sketchbooks that Buck didn’t know he owned. He’s confronted, suddenly, with the fact that his best friend has been drawing him for years.

Summary
Buck’s jaw clenches. “This isn’t you.”
Eddie’s smile turns mean, borderline unrecognizable even to himself. Buck is right, this isn’t him. It doesn’t even sound like his voice. But he’s exhausted. He’s hurt. And he’s done pretending there’s a way out of this that doesn’t involve blood in the water—they’re too far gone for that.
This wasn’t the plan, but he doesn’t pull back from the fight. He doubles down, clinging to the belief that devastation is better than emptiness, that being hated is better than being erased.
“Funny,” Eddie says softly. “Is that what you tell yourself when you fuck anyone who’ll have you? That it doesn’t mean anything? That it’s easier than admitting you’re trying not to think about me?”
Or,
Eddie figures his shit out. Eventually.
