Summary
Post S1 Finale, Fiore is hiding away when Alec comes to check on her after the crash. Reluctantly, Fiore lets him tend to her wounds.

Alec’s eyes scan her, and Fiore, to her horror, begins to shake in what must be fear. She doesn’t think Alec will hurt her, not really, but Fiore knows that adults are unpredictable, especially when angry. She shuts her eyes and hunches down, hoping that if she’s small enough he’ll forget all about everything and leave her alone.
There’s silence. Fiore cracks open an eye to see him studying her expression. The look of pity on his face disgusts her.
“Fiore,” Alec repeats, softer this time. “I came to check on you.”
She fully opens her eyes and frowns.
“What? Why?”
Alec’s expression returns to cold neutrality. He adjusts the box under his arm, and Fiore can see that it’s red.
“You got pretty hurt back there.” He says plainly. Fiore scoffs.
“So what? What do you care?”
“I may be upset with you, but that doesn’t mean I want you to be in pain.” He holds up the box, revealing that it’s a rather old First-Aid kit. “I have some things here. Let’s check you over.”

“I got you a gift,” Alec says.
They’re at the library, sitting next to each other while Fiore furiously works on her history paper. She hates numbers and wars and boring old stuff, but she’s almost done. One paragraph is left, and then she’ll be on her merry way.
Unless this whole ‘gift’ thing distracts her for too long. Which it probably will- Fiore likes getting things, and is already perking up at the sound of rustling paper as Alec leans down to pull something out of his briefcase.
“A gift?” She says. “For what reason?”
“I don’t know.” Alec remerges with a brown bag in his right hand. “Does there need to be a reason?”

Summary
Fiore lifts her face up slowly. It’s clear she’s been crying for a while, her brown eyes red and puffy. Her bangs are all messed up and out of place, and her brow is creasing. Tear tracks bend over her sunburned cheeks, and her lower lip quivers as she looks at Natalia. There’s a hint of shame in her eyes, as if being seen like this is some major flaw. She flinches away from the staring, and Natalia’s stomach sinks.
“Dios mío, criatura pequeña,” Natalia says. “What’s the matter?”
Fiore opens her mouth slightly, then shuts it. She gives Natalia an unsure look. When she realizes that Nat isn’t giving up, she spits it out.
“He gave up,” Fiore mutters under her breath. “He gave up on me.”

After comebacks, Natalia realizes that her alliance partner is nowhere to be found. After looking for her, they finally connect, despite the game.

His therapist heaves out a sigh.
(Or: Alec deals with the fallout of his divorce, losing custody of his son, not being able to contact Fiore, and losing a chance at a million dollars. But somehow it’s Connor getting a girlfriend that makes him snap).
