Summary
In the aftermath there is nothing. Cas got swollen into emptiness and Dean thinks he copes. He does. In his own way.
He got nothing on Cas, that’s the final conclusion. But there’s a coat…
He needs it. At least until he gets his angel back.Or: A deep dive into how depression and grief mix. Makes you hollow and carved out like a tree-trunk. And how healing is never linear.

Summary
Castiel returns from the Empty, his wings restored and position as Commander of Jack’s Heaven absolute, but Heaven is still at war against rebel angels who want to reinstate Chuck and threaten all Team Free Will has fought for.
While Castiel commands the Heavenly Host from the bunker; he and Dean enter an arrangement; touch allowed, sex forbidden, feelings not discussed. They tells themselves they can manage the half-way, until it becomes clear they can’t.
War keeps pressing through the bunker walls, every touch means more than either of them can bear, and Dean’s attempt to drag himself back into being “old Dean” drives the knife deeper.
When the line finally breaks, it breaks catastrophically: sex, separation, and a loss so profound Dean is forced to understand, too late and all at once, the true scale of what Castiel is to him.
Desperate to reach Castiel in Heaven, Dean devises a plan to find Castiel on the war front.
Terms of Surrender is a long, aching fic about repression, devotion, bodily longing, a profound bond, the final supernatural war, and the process of Dean and Cas finally getting everything they have fought for.

Summary
There was no one left to pray to. No angels he cared about since Cas had been taken by the Empty. No God. There was Jack, whatever kind of God he was, but Dean didn’t pray to him either. He prayed to a thing inside himself. A creature who cowered and whined and hid its face under the blanket of a Hunter’s disguise, telling itself over and over that it was good. It was good and righteous and it had saved more than it had killed.

Summary
Castiel returns from the Empty, helps Jack rebuild Heaven, and then comes home to the bunker.
Dean tells himself that should be enough. Cas is alive, Cas is here, and they have all the ordinary domestic closeness Dean has wanted for years without ever daring to name it. Silence feels safer. Wanting feels survivable.
Dean is wrong.
Because Castiel does want more—and after months of being loved in every way except the one that matters, he starts trying to build a life that doesn’t depend on Dean ever speaking. As Dean watches Cas move further out of reach, jealousy, hunger, shame, and buried love turn ordinary life into a slow disaster.
Now Dean has to face the question he’s spent years avoiding: not whether he loves Castiel, but whether he can survive being loved back.
