Summary
When Shane turns back towards the door, he is met with icy blue eyes watching him from the doorway. Transfixed, Shane stares back at the man. His striking features are perfectly aligned, resembling those of a Greek statue, framed by carefully styled blond curls. When Shane chances a look further down, he learns that his stature is just as imposing — though his baggy shirt hides his torso, the man's arms bulge with muscle, his jeans hug his large thighs like they were tailored directly onto his skin, and his hands are broad and masculine where they grip a box of pralines a little too tightly. Shane, despite his natural instincts, dares to meet the man's gaze again, and finds those blue eyes fixated on him with an intensity he has never been subject to before. They flit over his face, traveling down the length of his body before quickly jumping back up. Finally, he speaks, his words a soft purr.
"Are you a siren?"

Shane has been having one of the most exhausting weeks of his life, and he is one minor inconvenience away from losing his mind.
Perhaps worst of all, Ilya had been gone two whole days for a hockey game at another university – right after four days of Shane slaving away to finish his assignment, leaving them no time for intimacy – so Shane was also a little sexually frustrated. Sue him, six days was longer than they’d go without sex under normal circumstances, but Shane also desperately needed some stress relief this past week.

Summary
He is viscerally aware of how fast the time is running out for him to finally land a job that will grant him a visa to stay in Canada longterm, his student one running out in a few months time – right after graduation. His stomach churns at the mere possibility of going back to Russia, even temporarily. Not only because of Russia, not even only because of his family, but also because of Shane.

Or; Approaching the end of his university degree, Ilya is desperately looking for a job so he can stay in Canada after his student visa runs out. Shane realizes his boyfriend hasn't even considered the most obvious solution. That's okay, though, Shane will let him know.
