Hajime is 27 now. His date to office parties, dinner parties, birthday parties, and weddings lives in a country in South America, and Hajime is tired. The word ‘boyfriend’ or even ‘partner’ seems insufficient these days, when the word Hajime really wants to use is fiance, or even husband.
alternatively: Iwaizumi Hajime, sick of long-distance, breaks up with Oikawa Tooru after the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. They find their way back to each other anyways.

The words are out of his mouth before he can stop them, dripping from his lips like the fresh syrup he’d slathered over his pancakes earlier. And he curses himself as Iwa-chan’s eyes snap open, the bright green specks all but glowing as they reflect the seeping light, Tooru’s heart stuttering, the lump in his throat growing as he inadvertently falls harder for the other.
