    Remus Sr. was not sure if he felt much of any way when the Hat put Jr. in Ravenclaw. Remus Jr. avoided Gryffindor like the plague and made friends with an eccentric second-year who everyone called “Loony”, and he wasn’t sure if it was because his nickname was “Moony”?

    A mishap in Hogwarts lands Remus John Lupin Sr. with a ward - himself, Remus Jr., aged thirteen and a half.

    “And he… agreed? To help you with potions?” Remus Sr. said.

    “I was surprised too, actually,” Remus Jr. said. “He asked me why I didn’t go to Granger, because everyone went to Granger, and I told him I was avoiding Gryffindor, so he laughed for a really long time and had me go with him…”

    ...And he keeps peculiar company.
