Summary
Richie Tozier, at the ripe old age of forty, is not used to having friends.
At least, he wasn’t.
He used to know these people like the back of his hand, but adulthood has changed them. He recognizes their mannerisms and their memories, flooding back now with abandon, but not who they’ve become. Richie’s sure he’s changed, too; in fact, he knows he has. None of these people know what kind of life he’s led, and he feels like he’s got about a million years of stories worth catching up on for them, too.
But he’s never been more willing to try.

This, meaning, mostly, Richie fingering Eddie’s ass, pushing in slow and deliberate while Richie watches, mesmerized, by how hungrily Eddie’s hole stretches and swallows.

The concept of clerical celibacy is not unknown to Eddie. In fact, he’s been doing quite a lot of thinking about it in the last couple of months since Richie showed up and ruined his entire life. He’s supposed to have an undivided heart. That’s what his mother always told him: enter the priesthood, never marry, keep an undivided heart devoted to your mother and to God. When Eddie had asked, wasn't that divided?, she had told him he misunderstood.
For God, Eddie’s remained celibate for thirty-odd years.
For himself, he’s not going to remain celibate much longer.

Summary
The longer the silence stretches, the more Eddie misses Richie. It starts to become a physical ache, deep in his chest, that Richie’s not on the sofa with him. It feels wrong, that Richie’s not talking about everything and absolutely nothing simultaneously into the quiet, probing Eddie to make him laugh. There’s a preview on the TV for Richie’s live show, and his voice piercing the room makes Eddie’s heart pound with love and fucking loneliness.
