A plate scrapes across the table in front of Qifrey. Startled, he freezes, every inch of his body a live wire ready to bolt, and looks up -
Oh. It's Olruggio. The boy who had saved him after he had walked into the ocean. The one he had explicitly told to not come near him, but here Olruggio was, settling down across from Qifrey to eat dinner. And here Olruggio was, having the additional nerve to say that Qifrey hated vegetables when he clearly wasn't eating his either?
So maybe it was a bad idea, to get competitive like this, but Qifrey was also young, and he'd be damned if he lost to this boy who didn't know how to mind his own business.

Marcus's voice cracks, and she has to turn away from Semmelweis to quickly wipe her eyes. "I…I'm glad I could talk to you about Madam Hofmann…thank you. I'll be - fine, I promise - "
"You don't have to be fine just yet," Semmelweis says quietly. "Everyone grieves at their own pace. It took me years to come to terms with………"
She trails off, and ends the sentence there. Marcus burns with curiosity, but this isn't the time or place to push - instead, she curls into Semmelweis's warmth and closes her eyes.
"Thank you," she says again, and that's the last thing she remembers before she drifts off.

After only a moment of hesitation, Vaseraga nods slowly. "That's good logic, even if it doesn't work out. I think we should at least try it."

Both Eustace and Vaseraga take a step forward at the same time. There's a burst of light, there's a warmth all over, and -
Eustace wakes up alone in his own bed, wrapped up in blankets, hugging the plushie version of Vaseraga tightly to his chest.

Agott noticed a pattern between her master and his Watchful Eye. It seemed that whenever one of them was to get upset, the other would bring food to cheer them up.
Agott also noticed that Coco had been strangely quiet these days, as if she were worried about something. Agott wondered if she could cook something to cheer her up.
Alternatively, Agott learned how to cook Coco’s native hometown soup to cure her homesickness.

“Close your eyes,” Coco said, so quietly it was almost a whisper.
Behind her shut eyelids, every sound and feeling magnified as Coco brushed her remaining un-cut hair to the front. The comb’s teeth on her scalp. Coco's breath, so close. And this, too: How quiet she was, as if waiting for something.
Snip . The first part of her bangs fell to the floor.
“Can I tell you something, too?” Coco said, almost too quietly to make out.
“Sure.”
Anything, she didn't add. Please tell me anything.
Agott doesn't recognize herself in the mirror anymore, but Coco is there to help.
