Ken is a monster… but he's Momo's monster. A twisted mix of something vampire and yokai. And his curse? It'll take every single piece of his vowed phrase both literally and figuratively. His body and aura are unstable, and only she can hold him together. He falls hard, his love for her fueling his chaotic instincts, but he'll be damned if he ever hurts her. He'd do anything for her.
Momo doesn't want Okarun to give up. She can see it, he's still more human than other people in the world. She… she appreciates that about him, so deeply… she wants him to realize that for himself, but she knows she can't ignore the fact that he's forced into this role, his being a yokai vampire, forced to feed off of her, forced to feel things about her… she wants nothing more than to help him, to free him. To… to be his friend. She'd do anything for him.
They're soulmates, after all.

Okarun starts the day early at Kami High School, finishing homework on the bench outside. He casually spots a strange crimson-black streak in the pre-dawn sky and thinks it's cool (a meteor or satellite), then goes back to his paper. Something watches
Momo gives Okarun a special oversized heart-shaped strawberry cookie in class. "Don't get the wrong idea, idiot... it's leftover". Okarun is genuinely touched it's his first Valentine's treat ever and thanks her sincerely. Momo blushes, calls him "four-eyes," punches his shoulder lightly, and flees in embarrassment. It silently watches and records every moment of their awkward, unspoken affection.

Vex slowly draws her bow as she hears the sound of quick and uneven footfalls far off on dry forest floor.
She sees the creature she’s hunting at a distance. It’s dark enough that the world is melting into darkvision monochrome, but she can see that the monster wears a coat, that it’s in a terrible hurry, and that it’s limping.
Vampires generally aren’t known for holding onto wounds. It was injured in the last minute or so—Vex isn’t the only one after the bounty.
Vex nocks a holy arrow. She should take it out quick, one shot, so she doesn’t need to rush in with a silver dagger and make things messy. She’s so much better with a bow.

The rocks were easy enough to climb and stretched towards the ocean which made for a nice view as the sun dipped below the horizon. She strode along the rough, wet surface and looked down to see the push and pull of the low tide.
