He turned the doorknob slowly and his last coherent thought before the door fell open was maybe he’s got this completely wrong. There are a million reasons why a man and a woman could be in a room alone.
Unfortunately in this case, there was only one.
A white haired man was draped over top of his girlfriend covering most of her from sight, the forearm he held his weight up with digging into the pillow that Geto used every night. Only her hands, tan against the pale skin of his exposed back, and her face, eyes closed and mouth agape with pleasure, were visible. The door finished its trajectory and bumped against the wall. She opened her eyes.

“There’s no easy way to say this, Itadori. The cancer is back and it’s spread to your stomach.”
The corners of his lips twitched, smile faltering for merely a second. He felt his palms begin to sweat as he kneaded and gripped at the fabric of his shorts, faded by the sun and beginning to wear thin. His vision began to fade at the edges, darkening while everything else began to brighten. The distant sounds of the hospital faded outside the examination room they were in, sounding as though he was underwater. Drowning.
“Did you hear me, Itadori?”
Doctor Shoko’s voice came, slicing through. Despite her usual vacant expression being ever present, he could see the crease of her eyebrows, concerned. She was worried. He didn’t want her to worry.
Letting out a hesitant and somewhat awkward laugh, he reached up, smiling, rubbing the back of his neck. It felt cold.
“Hah, jeez! That wasn’t what I wanted to hear!”

Brought back to reality by his sudden revelation, Satoru looks up to see Geto. He looks like he's thinking, a mildly upset frown tugging the edges of his lips down. Even with the near-grimace, Satoru still thinks he looks unfairly pretty.
"Fuck no. Not happening. In what universe do you think we'll be friends?" Geto hisses, but he's undeterred. As soon as the words pushed their way out of his lips, Satoru had made sure they became a promise.
"I'll try my best. Even if you don't want to," he insists, pinching lightly at the skin between his pointer and his thumb. "I'm gonna— I'm gonna be so annoying that you can't get rid of me—"
"You already are," Geto cuts in.
"—and then we'd be friends. I'm not gonna stop trying."
Meanwhile, Geto looks absolutely bewildered. Annoyance pinches his brows downwards, and his mouth is slightly hung open in shock. He looks at Satoru like he'd caused the entirety of global warming.
"You're fucking insane." Geto breathes out.
