For as long as Kazuha lived, he had heard of a particular story well-known among the common folk. It was a legend, that of a deity imprisoned for daring to go against the Electro Archon. A deity who continued to ravage Inazuma with relentless storms and heavy floods.
The Lord of Storms he was called. A cruel and heartless deity.
But, every time in rained, Kazuha could only sense despair. The wind wept and the skies cried. It made Kazuha wonder whether the Lord of Storms was as merciless as he was commonly painted to be.
Or, Kazuha yearned to learn more about Inazuma's most abhorred deity.

Summary
For years now, Kazuha's sleep has been plagued by nightmares — a natural consequence of seeing death one too many times, he supposes. He used to take medications for it, but he stopped after he realized how drowsy and... untethered they made him. Therapy was also not particularly effective, but honestly he doesn't feel the need for it, either. He's fine, having a disturbed sleep from time to time isn't such a big deal.
When he wakes up from one for the first time since binding himself to Kunikuzushi, it takes him a moment to realize the weight sitting on his chest is not part of the nightmare, but a cat with midnight fur and piercing blue eyes.
Or: Kazuha's life was turned upside-down when a demon forcefully bound himself to his soul, but of all the changes he was expecting, said demon taking an interest in mitigating his nightmares was not one of them.

“I am no traitor.” the man protests. Flat eyes of a shark almost make Wanderer believe him.
“Don’t patronize me. You’re Resistance.” Wanderer snorts, an oddly breathy thing full of mockery. The blood has started to feel like molten lava burning on his face, his stomach, his legs. “Here, it’s a sin of the same degree. They hang your kind, too.”
In the midst of wartime and turned fugitive on the run, Wanderer forms an unwilling alliance with an estranged resistance soldier to escape capture - well, that is, of course, if Wanderer doesn’t kill him first.

But what struck him even harder was what the other version of him was wearing.
The outfit was unmistakable.
Dark, imposing, laced with the authority and weight of a past he had long since cast aside - The attire he had worn when he was a Fatui Harbinger. When he was Scaramouche.
"Are you just going to stand there and stare like an idiot?"

Due to some errors of Irminsul, Scaramouche and Kabukimono somehow got brought back but as two different individuals. Now they have to lied to everyone that they're triplets and play along with that lie.
