It had been a good day, waking up to hear that he was alright, and that they had done it.
That StrayKids had defeated the SoundMonster for good without a single casualty amongst them.[...]Yet Minho is convinced, ever since that day he is haunted by the number eight.
Saying it out loud sounds incredibly ridiculous though, so he ignores the weird clenching in his chest when he stops by the bakery on his way home to order cupcakes for them all and it happens again.
“How many was it, dear?”, the older lady behind the counter asks, when she lines them all up in a box to go.
“Eight?”“Seven.”
Minho smiles thinly and pushes the weird sting in his heart as far off his mind as he can manage.“We’re only seven.”
