“Sick” Izuku said shortly, reengaging the machine and starting his third set. He hoped that the other man would understand that he wasn’t interested in small talk. Instead, the man stood there and waited for Izuku to finish his set.
“You know, your form is great, I mean it doesn't matter so much on the machine, but I’ve noticed your deadlifts as well in the past, you can lift pretty heavy for such a small guy.” the vaguely familiar man said. Izuku just sent him a glare, hoping that his quirk would now manifest at 26, and he would vaporize the man on the spot, or maybe just make him shut up.

He finds out at a routine check-in. He decides not to tell Katsuki - because Katsuki would stay out of duty, and Izuku can't survive loving a man who's only there because he has to be. So he switches agencies, swallows the lie, and carries it alone.

Katsuki hated this. As a damn pup everyone spoke of Enigmas like they were superheroes, godly in comparison to others. Their scent alone can bring down fuckin’ dragons in fairytales and so, when he presented as such at five, he’d thought he’d rule the damn universe. Just for all those idiots of the past to know, he absolutely does not. Nope, he is walking into high school with a mouth full of braces because he also has double claiming fangs that need help knowing how to fucking grow in since his premature one’s fell out, finally, over the summer.

Izuku knows what he is, so rare, his doctor tested him for over a year before fully believing it. He isn’t supposed to exist.
But he does.His existence caused his dad to flee. It has caused his mother to look for “scent fortified” homes for his safety. Left that same mother single and lonely until Yagi appeared and dared to love them both. He doesn’t dare to think something good can happen for his sake. He doesn’t deserve it.
