Andrew’s line of thinking skidded to a halt when he spotted it.
Neil’s duffel bag crumpled on the ground, his racquet lying a few feet away in an equally distressed state. Neil would never have left them behind, not willingly. Not willingly.

And you’re you, which never made you feel as bad as it does now that you’re surrounded by good people all day long. He’s the worst of them all, though. So fucking sweet, so considerate. He knows you hate the apologies, and he stops. He knows you hate the upstairs neighbors, and he says something to them to make them quiet down. He knows you hate talking about Langdon, and he gives you an out every time the man comes up.
Trinity probably should have known that Huckleberry was going to be trouble when she persuaded him to come live with her. She couldn't have known that he would become so important to her. (Seriously, this is the guy who killed a patient on his first day! What was she thinking?)
