Summary
Hannibal looks up into Will's eyes and sees the surrounding chaos sinking into them like screams into a pillow. Will's calm expression is puzzling. Surely, with his empathy, the level of distress around them should short every circuit in his mind.
"Didn't you get the news? We're all about to die," Hannibal says.
"Oh, it doesn't matter, I die all the time."

Summary
He turns to kiss her lips. They taste they always taste, plus that little hint of green. When she pulls back, she’s got a bigger smile on her face than he’s seen from her in a while. She leans in again and gives him a peck on the tip of his nose.
“You’re stoned as hell, aren’t you?” he says.
“Mmhm.”
“Good.”
She sets the vaporizer on the side table and scoots down the bed to rest her head on his thigh. As she shuts her eyes, his knuckles brush along the bare skin behind her ear and down her long neck. They sit like that until she falls back to sleep.
...The buzz wears off just enough for him to remember that petty little man next door.

“Not sure where you’re going to do with it though. We don’t really have paper”—just a single notepad that Will had stolen from another motel lobby—“and it’d be rude to paint the walls.”
Hannibal shakes his head, then points at the label.
FDA Certified. Nontoxic. Body paint.
It takes a second to hit Will. Body paint. Like, paint to use on someone’s body. And there’s only really one someone in here who that could be.
“Oh,” Will says.

While they wait to flee the country, Will and Hannibal find themselves in a pink-heart riddled nightmare of a safe house. Unsettled by the shag carpet and silence and desperate for a diversion, Will finds himself even more at Hannibal's mercy than expected.

"Punishment can be liberation for some," Hannibal says. "Especially those who feel they must atone for the pleasures they revel in."
"It never seemed to me that soft, beautiful things were meant for me," Will admits.
The look Hannibal fixes on him feels like a hand on Will's throat. Vexed. Incredulous. And then smouldering.
"Many things have changed for you as of late, Will. Perhaps this is one of them."

“Have we chased the nightmares away?” Hannibal asks. Are you still with me? he doesn’t. But Will hears his silent question. The bed creaks as he turns onto his side, and Hannibal rolls over to face him.
“I was so cold for so long without you, Hannibal. And now that you’ve taken me out of stasis, it hurts like hell.” There’s a waver in Will's voice. Hannibal wonders if their new intimacy has shaken his foundations as profoundly as it has Hannibal's.
“Now that you’re letting yourself feel again, your wounds are exposed to the open air.”
Will rolls his eyes. “When the snow melts, you can see every dog turd from the whole winter out on the lawn."
"Such a beautiful mind you have," Hannibal says. He’s rewarded with an audible laugh, and a demure glance through thick eyelashes. “I’m right here, Will. I will help you adjust to the temperature.”

After evading the FBI, Will and Hannibal hole up in a cabin deep in a Pennsylvania forest to heal their wounds and their relationship. As winter melts into spring, another predator on the run turns up to find his usual safe house is occupied.

Summary
For years, Will Graham has been an avid fan of world-renowned tattoo artist Hannibal Lecter. His work, as well as his infamous studio in Florence, inspired a young Will to apprentice in the field and eventually run his own modest shop. He's always hoped of one day earning Hannibal's attention, and perhaps a piece of his own.
When the master artist posts online that he's planning to visit America, and that he's accepting applications for shops to host him for a guest residency, Will drinks himself brave enough to apply.
He does not expect to be chosen. He really does not expect his hero to be such a pain in the ass.

Summary
Jack's back is turned to Will. He's in the doorway, and Abigail Hobbs is behind him, holding his gun, aiming it straight at Jack's chest.
"You think I killed Nick Boyle," she says, but her voice is shaky. Her hands are shaky.
They haven't noticed Will, but—
"I'm not here because of Nick Boyle, Abig—"
But Will sees Abigail, and it's the only thing he needs to sink the knife into Jack's jugular.
Out of all the ways Will Graham saw his bright and disastrous post-BSCHI dance with Hannibal Lecter ending, even he didn't see it ending with Abigail Hobbs rising from the grave as Jack Crawford descended into the Inferno.
Two months later, with Abigail off to college in Germany, Will and Hannibal negotiate a tenuous life in coastal France, featuring an extra ghostly house pest and all the emotional baggage you might expect. Things come together and things fall apart in this gothic romance, Mizumono murder family (eventual) fix-it. Diverges from canon the night of the lamb dinner (the last supper).

After Freddie Lounds writes a puff piece on them, Will starts finding erotic fiction written about he and Hannibal that makes him question everything he's ever known about himself.
