Summary
Takes place right after the events of Resident Evil 5
AU in which Wesker survives, though barely alive, he tracks down Chris and hides in his apartment, waiting for the perfect moment to kill him. Only to find out that it's Leon's apartment instead. And Leon being the innocent hero that he is, feels sorry for the injured stranger and unknowingly helps a mass murderer recover to full health.
How does Wesker thank him? By going after his best friend and beating the living shit out of him.

Just as Chris reached the front door it was kicked inward, and he came face to face with the most gorgeous man he’d ever laid eyes on.
Said gorgeous man also happened to be aiming a gun between his eyes.
“Don’t shoot!” Chris exclaimed, more reflex than anything else. He knew there was a zombie hot on his heels but threw his hands up in supplication.
Gorgeous’s expression softened fractionally before blue eyes caught movement over Chris’s shoulder and hardened again. “Get down!”

With both dead set on finding Claire and getting the hell out of the city, the two immediately partner up and promise themselves to get through this. Although no longer human, Albert Wesker retained his sanity. Working with the former S.T.A.R.S. members they founded the B.S.A.A. and along with William Birkin´s help are now working to bring down Umbrella and anyone else who might try to replace the pharmaceutical giant. Wesker never regretted protecting Chris that night at the mansion, even at the cost of his own humanity, though at times he finds himself questioning their relationship, especially after a drunken kiss. When he finds himself raising his 10 year old son he never knew existed Wesker realizes that he needs more than a little help. Mainly because Jake is not like the other children and Wesker soon learns that there is more to the boy than meets the eye. Then again, Jake is his son, so it was to be expected.

Chris Redfield is doing his best to live up to the expectations his S.T.A.R.S. Captain has, but his own careless nature tends to get in the way. To the point where he is considering resignation, avoiding the man for reasons he´s unwilling to divulge and his work performance oscillates, driving the rest of team Alpha crazy. Until they have enough of both, Captain and Pointman. But problems in the team are not the only thing getting in the way. A crazy incident at an abandoned mansion forces S.T.A.R.S. to consider that there are greater things afoot than they might be prepared for, but with their reliable Captain leading them, things simply have to turn out fine in the end. They have to. Edit 2025: Aspotrophes have been fixed and I shall slowly work my way through each chapter to fix grammar and syntax mistakes to the best of my ability.

Leon is livid, standing in Hunnigan’s office, grinding his teeth together so forcefully he’s surprised he doesn’t chip one of them.
“Leon, would you listen to me for one minute?”
She tries to get through to him but he doesn’t want to hear it, it’s enough that they’ve canceled his vacation again, but to ask this of him– is utterly humiliating.
“I said, I am not doing it!”
He digs around in his pants pocket, grasps the dark blue chip he finds there tightly between his thumb and index finger and bangs it on Hunnigan’s desk, leaving it between them like a beacon to remind her of what she’s demanding.
“You might as well just take it now.”
Six months of sobriety. Weekly AA meetings. A prescription for SSRIs, he isn’t dumping in the trash. He’s really trying to be better, he is, but he knows having to accept this mission, will make all of that be for naught.
Or
Chris and Leon take up an undercover mission, needing to set up a fake marriage. All seems to be going according to plan, if it weren’t for their own secrets slowly coming to light.

It starts with relentless bickering, terrible gas station snacks, and arguing over tactical positioning mid-gunfight. But as the stakes get higher and the danger gets closer, the friction between them shifts from hostile to heated. A bottle of cheap whiskey and a heavy case of denial are about to make an already messy mission a whole lot more complicated.
