Pik and Jaijai claim that they are just friends, or at least they convince themselves that they are nothing more than that. Pik says it like a mantra: “We’re just friends!”, reminding himself that he should keep his feelings in check or else he could lose the person he loves the most. Jai says it like it’s the most natural thing in the world: “Yeah, just friends with benefits.”, because he cannot imagine what life could be if he doesn’t have Pik–and friends are forever, dating is temporary–at least this way he can keep Pik without having to deal with complicated emotions and labels that means nothing if it can easily fade away.
Both of them didn’t want to lose the other, but one of them keeps hoping that if they hold on long enough, maybe, just maybe, they can be more than friends. The other doesn’t want to be more than anything, since, since this way we can’t hurt each other, or so he thought.

“Bastard, what the hell do you think you're doing?” Qins voice is booming in the narrow alleyway behind X’s Bar. And Duang in his drunken stupor just pouts, leaning on the wall on the opposite side for balance.
In fact he is so drunk off his face that he can't even make out Qins facial expressions nor the tone of his voice. How he furrows his eyebrows, his eyes full of anger and something vulnerable.
“Qin~” Duang holds his arms out, wanting to touch and hug Qin to himself.
His lover takes a step back and holds a hand out to stop him, putting distance between them. Duang instantly gets teary eyed and lets his hands fall to his sides.
“Do you even know what you just did in there?” Qin asks, pointing to the entrance of the bar. He is rigid, every muscle locked up - tense. He feels so unbelievably angry but mostly hurt. He never thought Duang would be that kind of person.
If looks could kill, Duang would be dead meat on the ground.
