Their torsos are pressed together and Rozanov’s hand is grasping the back of Shane’s neck, pulling his face even harder against his own, just to have more of him. Rozanov’s tongue is sliding quickly, hungrily, familiarly against Shane’s. The four years Shane has waited to do this shrink into a wrinkle, bridging 2009 and now, as though the universe had not so unfairly yanked them apart and they could start their rookie year over again.--
Years after Ilya left the league prematurely, Shane and Ilya are both passengers on a four-month, around-the-world cruise.
