Summary
The rutting season, it’s a first Lucifer even hears of it. He knows, of course, what it means in terms of animals and nature, more specifically of the deer nature but Alastor definitely isn’t an animal, despite some very distinct deer features. Perhaps he has more of a deer in himself than he lets on, though and if so, Lucifer is dying of curiosity what it even means for him during his season.

.Except, what he comes to is no rut at all, which makes Lucifer simultaneously scream inside and lose his mind irreversibly for one pretty doe over and over again, whom he finds in the dim lights of the bayou.
He’s ready to count his blessings as long as the breeding season allows it.
This story was written for Doe Alastor Week 2026, in a form of a two-chapter fic, containing the following prompts: breeding season/fawns, scent marking, tail pulling/doe eyes, chasing/hooves, mounting/deer spots, deer noises/Bambi. Happy celebrations of our favorite doe to you all!

The tiny deity pays his sour mood no mind. She's cooking up some sort of concoction, no doubt for him to take on what would otherwise be a quick trip if not for the numerous amounts of errands she has him running nowadays. Dottore left him quite a mess to clean up.
"Well, it wouldn't do for either one of us to fall," she says, with great seriousness.

Varka trips a little. “What was that?”
Lohen responds by sinking further into Varka’s chest, enveloped by his heartbeat and expanding-retracting lungs. “They’re, just… loud. And needy.”
Varka snorts. “I’d have thought that would give you some common ground with ‘em.”
Lohen wants to pinch him, but his arm won’t move.
“And maybe you’ve got that much in common with Mondstadt, too,” says Varka, “because we need you. So you have to survive this, alright?”
Lohen doesn’t actually want to die, he just really, really, really wants his subordinates to live. Sometimes that means standing between them and a heaving, snarling beast and letting it do its thing.

What begins as a chance encounter between an injured knight and a Lightkeeper slowly becomes something neither of them expected.
Or: Lohen and Illuga discover that loneliness is easier to bear when shared.

Summary
Not for the first time, Illuga thinks there must be something wrong with him. Maybe he’s been possessed by the Wild Hunt. Maybe the kuuvahki is finally getting to him; one too many mandragoras, or something like that.
Either way, there has to be a reason. Why else would Illuga keep letting Lohen into his bed? Why else would Illuga allow Lohen to use his body again and again, leaving Illuga with bruised skin, aching bones, and a weary heart?
‘Friends with benefits’ is a phrase he’s heard before, and it makes sense. The life of a Lightkeeper can be cold and lonely, so it’s only natural to seek warmth and comfort from another. But Illuga never expected to find himself in such an arrangement, if what they have can even be called that. Lohen’s rough treatment offers no benefits, and they certainly aren’t friends. Illuga doesn’t even like him.
This can’t possibly be what Flins had in mind when he suggested that Illuga take up a new hobby.

“Here and there,” Kazuha muses, looking up at the sky. The sun is coming down hard and Wanderer can see the bottom of his smile like this. “Why?” he inquires, a teasing glint to his eyes when he meets his gaze again. “Are you offering?”
“No,” Wanderer snips and turns around, successfully ending this conversation by walking away.

oh, now what? scara mindlessly swallows, throwing his gaze somewhere else. “it’s nothing. just…” his voice drops lower in his throat, a slight rasp coming out, “...the usual.”
it’s not a very thought-out answer. scara isn’t even sure what he wants kazuha to make of it. but kazuha doesn’t put any more questions in the air. this might be a grand speculation on scara’s part but, somehow, it looks like kazuha may have understood exactly what kind of ‘usual’ he’s talking about. it’s not above his capabilities to figure out such things, especially after spending so much time with scara.

Finally, after thousand of years pining, Xiao gathered enough courage to ask Venti out. He thought it went well.
It did not.

Shocked, the poor man choked on his own spit. "Excuse me?!"

Embarrassed, Illuga's blush spread from his neck to his ears. "Please stop talking."
"You don't want to?" Lohen asked, tilting his head to one side.
"I do, but you… You're going way too fast."
The omega hummed. "Am I? I mean, you already proposed, so I thought it was the next logical step." At his words, the alpha's blush deepened. Lohen chuckled at how cute his fiancé was.
"It's okay, birdie. We can become mates when your heart is ready. I'll wait for you," Lohen said with a sweet smile gracing his features. Even with his hair plastered to his sweaty forehead and his pre-heat discomfort showing on his face, he was stunning.
Or, Lohen goes through hell until it gets better.
