George slapped Mitchell’s arm. “Ghosts exist! You didn’t tell me that!”
Mitchell shrugged. “I thought you knew.”
“How could I possibly know that!?” George threw down the cricket bat and gave them both an impatient, scolding look, rather like a teacher with unruly students. “I’m going to try to clear up the paint our resident ghost has so kindly left us, if you don’t mind. Mitchell, you handle her, Mr Ghost Expert.”
“I never said expert, I just said they exist,” Mitchell said, but George was already stomping away. Mitchell sighed. “And now he’s in a tizzy. You know he’ll be insufferable if that paint doesn’t come off.”
Annie was too giddy to care. She beamed at Mitchell, bouncing on her toes.
“I’m Annie,” she said, almost squeaking in delight. “So pleased to meet you.”
He regarded her curiously, then grinned, bright and cheeky.
“Mitchell,” he said, setting his umbrella aside much more calmly than George. “Nice to meet you, Annie.”

It was sheer chance when Bilbo thought back on it. What if he’d stayed home? What if someone else had run up the lane before him?
But it was him. It was him and it was Kíli, and Bilbo wouldn’t change it for the world.

Long ago, a dwarf child was lost and found in a storm by Bilbo Baggins. He has no idea where his young ward came from; all attempts to find Kíli's family failed. Sticking together, they make do and it's a peaceful life.
Until Gandalf arrives with talk of adventure. Until the Company of Thorin Oakenshield arrives on their doostep.
Or: Kíli's a missing prince. Bilbo's not about to let his (son) ward face a dragon without him.

Summary
Zelda didn’t think, didn’t hesitate; she just leapt for Link, reaching desperately for his hand as her own began to glow. She’d protected herself and the Brigade from a cataclysmic fall like this once, she could do it again, weakened powers be damned. She needed to save Link. No matter what, she needed to save him. They were getting out of here together, damn it all.
There was a burst of gold in Link’s pocket (the teardrop!) and it spread outwards in waves of glitter. The gold encased his entire body, the Triforce of Courage blazed with all the power of the sun, their fingers brushed and then, in one last blast of light-
“Link!” Zelda screamed again, more desperately than ever as he vanished before her eyes.

Summary
As soon as they disembarked, fog surrounded them and a hot breeze whipped up. It almost reminded Zelda of Korok Forest and yet was utterly unlike it too.
A man's voice rang out: "Hylia's Chosen. Sacred Princess. Welcome to Eventide. I am Monk Korgu Chideh, and in the name of Goddess Hylia, I offer this trial to you, Hero. Across this island are three orbs. Return them to their pedestals and the path will open for you."
The fog vanished. Zelda blinked, feeling strangely dizzy and- hold on. Her clothes felt strange. She couldn't sense the Great Fairies' blessings, they just felt normal now, and...And...Her bow and arrows! They were gone. But how?
Link was frowning at the slate. "All our weapons are gone," he said. "And our food, clothes and elixirs." He scowled as he attached the slate to his belt. "I hate this monk."
Even the Master Sword was missing from his back. This monk certainly had some nerve.

Summary
Gimli spotted Tauriel from time to time, though he’d never spoken to her. He’d no wish to. He’d resented her presence for so long, glaring every time he saw her, biting back the urge to shout at her to go away, to leave his people be. Gimli wanted to rage and fight, to demand she leave his family alone; they were his, not hers. Never hers. Never an Elf’s. He’d so badly wanted to take her to task for besmirching his beloved cousin’s honour even now, so long after Kíli was gone.
He’d been furious every time he saw her at Kíli’s grave; it felt like she was stealing his time with his kin, for he could not even visit Fíli or Thorin while she was with Kíli. Not comfortably. He couldn’t talk to them with her there, so he always stormed off in anger and waited for her to leave. He was always happy to see the back of her.
Until now, until now that he finally understood. Now he was sorry to have missed her.

When all is said and done, the Fellowship have tombs to visit in Erebor. Gimli has a lot to reflect on regarding his lost cousins.
In particular, the romance he's only recently come to understand between Kíli and Tauriel.

Summary
100 years ago, the Great Calamity ravaged Hyrule. In the chaos, Princess Mipha and her husband, Prince Link, lost their lives.
Until Link rose from the Shrine of Resurrection that is.Part 1: Luminous. The Zora aren't too happy about their amnesiac prince wandering the country alone. It looks like he'll need a guard. It's a family road trip to save the world
Part 2: Coruscant. A study of Harper the Sheikah bard, and his growth from "obnoxious poet" to "wise mentor." An AU in which he lives to meet Link again

Summary
There's a certain point where you can no longer ask someone what their name is. Thorin isn't sure exactly when that point is, but he knows that it's probably some time before the person in question saves your life. On the far side of the Misty Mountains, Thorin realizes that he never quite caught the first part of Mr. Baggins' name, and he finds that it's astonishingly harder to learn than he would have thought. Fili, Kili, and Dwalin are no help whatsoever.
