Summary
Artiaes, the witch who chose her own name.
Olruggio, the Star of Ghodrey.
Qifrey, the one-eyed witch with a sharp gaze.
The three witches everyone talked about, each one with varying levels of kindness and harshness.
Artiaes told herself she didn’t care about the silly rumors in the Great Hall, told herself she wasn’t trying to prove herself to anyone anymore with such conviction that she actually believed it for a bit. She created an atelier of her own with Qifrey and Olruggio, who both seemed just as eager to leave the Great Hall as she was. Qifrey passed the fifth test with flying colors, taking on four apprentices in the span of two years while Olruggio and Artiaes made themselves known through their contraptions and spells.
Not once did it ever occur to Artiaes how easily their fragile shield of peace could crumble.
