Summary
Most Hybrids knew that being arrested was the beginning of the end. Even after they had served their sentence, there was still the 'Hybrid Reintegration Program' to endure.
A program supposedly meant to aid these Hybrids in their transition back to society, in actually, it was, at best, a broken system that led to most Hybrids either rebelling and being stuck in the program for decades, or submitting and allowing themselves to conform to human culture.
Four new Hybrid 'apprentices' were set to join Hermitcraft, a rehab server renown for only taking the most difficult cases. At that point, if they failed and were sent back, their chances of ever going home again were slim to none. Hermitcraft was their last chance.
Or...
Pearl, Gem, Joel, and Skizz are traumatized, each in their own way, and have no idea what to do with the kindness shown to them in Hermitcraft.

"I follow what I'm actually interested in," she said. "If I'm dreading it, it's usually not for me." She shrugged slightly. "Or if I keep waiting for someone to notice I'm doing it. That's usually a sign."
She said it cleanly. Thought, it wasn't a complicated question from where she was sitting.
Pearl nodded once.

Blitz Fawn lands another hit on one of the wannabe big-hit villains, sending them flying towards a wall, then swiftly kicks another behind her without even looking.
She huffs, wiping off the sweat on her brow from dealing with way too many villains today. They just keep coming daily!
A irritating familiar whistle came from right behind her, “Well, hello there, gorgeous.”
You have GOT to be kidding me. She groans, turning around to see the Wicked Wolf sitting politely on rubble.
Her personal, made into reality, migraine spawner for a year and a half. An idiotic grin on the wolf’s face, her blue and red eyes twinkling with mischief and joy. Ugh.
Blitz sighed, hand already twitching for the sheath of her blade. And then she pulls out her radio to call for help because she will, in fact, not deal with her today.

There are some tiny horns protruding from his forehead, turning from Impulse’s skin color to black at the tip and fangs were poking from his lips. Most jarringly, Impulse’s normal, brown, human eyes had gone pitch black. There were tiny little pinpricks of yellow in the middle. “Hmm. You’re not Impulse.”

The morning wind breezed through Gem’s hair, her long redhaired curls flowing freely. Her matte green luggage trailed behind her, the plastic wheels screeching every few seconds or so on the hard concrete floor. This was her first day of college in Hermit College and she was not going to let her day get ruined for some dumb reason.
Room 607, that number kept repeating in her head. She had hoped that her roommates were at least normal. She really didn't want to room with a weird person or an asshole. But, whoever her roommate may be, she hopes that she'll grow attached.
The rather busy hallway kept Gem’s mind at bay. Comforted by the fact she's not the only one stressed out. Truth be told — she was nervous. College had been gnawing at her, unsure if she picked the right course. She loved pre-med, but has heard less than… satisfactory comments. She loves helping people, so she thought being a pre-med student was a good idea.
